I got the aeromotive FPR kit a few days ago, installed it, and then took it off a day later to fix some leaking. When I went to put it back on, the threads on the fuel rail fitting were messed up and the brass fitting wouldnt screw onto it. While waiting for a new fitting my car sat with fuel rail and FPR detached. I put everything back together yesterday along with brand new plugs but now from 1000 rpm to around 3000 rpms my car sounds like a subaru. Is it possible I got water or condensation in my rail when it was sitting apart?

Be alittle more specific on the sound. and yes, it can be possible if you did not cap anything off to get condensation in the lines and what not.

Well, yeah your going to have some moisture in the lines. Clean out the hoses and fpr and make sure there is no sludge. Let everything dry. Hook up the Vaccuum hose and try it out.

Even if it rained it shouldn't effect it too much if the hood was down.

And the amount of water during condensation would be minimal. Unless you just poured water in the rail, I wouldn't imagine there being enough water to cover the bottom of the rail from condensation without any real temperature changes. Then once you fired up the car it may run rough for a few minutes, if that long, before you effectively "flushed" the water out.

I would look at your install again. You mentioned some "buggered" threads. That would be my first place to check.

But yes, more info is needed for clarification.

I hooked the kit up, had it on for 1 day...everything worked perfect. Took everything apart to fix the leaks, the car sat for 2 days as I was waiting for the piece (fuel rail disconnected from FPR), then hooked everything up the exact same way and it ran like sh*t.

If you had condensation in the rail and drove the car it would have run through the fuel system. Set fuel pressure at approximitly 37 psi. If you have done this and have no fuel leaks it may be possible some shavings from these messed up threads are clogging something up or possibly damaged something in the fuel system. I would disasemble the rail and inspect all parts. Besides that go to the basics, do you have spark on all 4 cylinders? Are they getting fuel? I thought I should add the feed line for the Aeromotive FPR comes into the bottom of the unit and out the sides or side, just so you can double check the correct connections, check for pinched lines too. If the regulator is not mounted to the motor make sure the fuel lines have enough slack for motor flex. Or It could just be a coinsidense? :talon:

Alright, so theres no water in the gas anymore, I picked up new plugs once again, picked up some seafoam, set fuel pressure how it should be,and got a more free flowing recirc tube. Im going to be doing an oil change soon along with new fuel filter. Whats the best fuel filter to use and is there anything else I can do?
