Here are a few pics of my dilemma.....

Where the 14mm wrench is......how the heck do you get that nut loose?
I want to pull the tie rod end off so I can just pull the wishbone and swap it.

I assume you get it loose then back out the 5mm allen to pull the whole wishbone?

(It was bent having to move the car in the dark to another location...long story.)

Thanks!

I'm assuming, by the looks of things, that this is a 2g. I've had my suspension apart many times and I never had to remove the tie rods in order to remove that forked-wishbone-type-deal. Nor have I ever messed with a 5mm allen bolt.

Your first picture is unclear to me. Do you have a better one from further away? What is all that white junk?
AFAIK, you remove the two 14mm bolts that anchor the forked-wishbone-type-deal to the shock body and the lateral control arm and the parts "simply" slides off. It may take some PB blaster and a whack with a rubber mallet to do so. However, mine wiggle off with no problem.

Hopefully someone else can tell whats going on and I might learn something new today.

I believe he's talking about the stabilizer link (that's what his wrench appears to be on). Spray it with solvent and hold the bolt with the 5mm allen while turning the nut with the wrench. It will be rusted and will take many back and forths and possibly heat. You do not need to remove the tie rod end to remove the link or vise versa.

Use an impact gun after using some PB Blaster (My Favorite). Or since it is bent I will Guess that you are putting in a new one. So just cut the stud off with the nut still on and buy a $0.82 nut

Thank you....yes it is a 2G (98GSX...will fill out the info now).

That friggin' nut is rusted and won't move for crap. So just take a dremel....cut it and replace I take it?

I will try and find some other pics I took to show you more of what's happening...but yea, I just need the stablizer link off to pull the wishbone.

Thanks!
