New alternator check, fixed squeeling belt check, suspension check, sweet metallic blue paint check, sound system check. Now the last step is to build. I bought my baby about 2 years ago with 100k on it, dead stock and very clean for 5,000$. My father knows these cars inside and out since my mother has owned her 97 gsx since well 97. I know he wont help me because he doesn't believe in modifying stock cars so i thought i get advice here.

My car now has 140k on it and its time to make it a bit faster. I know if you dont build it right you will have to keep running into problems, but thats just a dsm life. Since the 40k i drove i have had no problems, besides minor oil leak and slave cylinder.. anyways I need advice, pointers, research, anything to start building my car right. I dont want cheap, or real expensive just around the mid range for parts. Id like to build it right and run into as little problems as possible. Although learning each day is fun i do have a busy schedule, and need reliable transportation... Im going to start of with the basics exhaust, intake. After that I need help. Reliable parts.. im going to save the turbo for last if possible that way i can get a nice one. :thumb:

Shooting for 300-400 hp range

I have a 99 gsx

BTW joining these forums is one of the smartest things I could do. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I dont think I can ever go back to owning any other car but DSM. Glad to apart of the DSM family :hellyeah:

One last thing, iv tried researching exhausts on youtube and got some idea of sound, but im looking for a deeper exhaust, not ricer, the best one I could find is the apexi n1 i believe, any other suggestions on a deep exhaust?

Your right well, well considering I said I have had no problems I thought you would get that I keep an eye on everything. I have changed ball joints, timing belt, water pump, all the belts, motor mounts, tie rods, brakes, all fluids, spark plugs, ect, ect ,ect

Sweet! That's what I like to hear. You can follow the upgrade paths here : Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

It will be expensive, but we both know how addictive that boost is =D
