hi everybody!
would like some opinions about the spec of my motorbuild.
starting out with my 4g63t 7bolt engine that came from an eagle talon tsi awd -95

would like to make around 600hp but i´m guessing 400-500hp will be more realistic if i want to stay on a decent budget. i know this is a big difference in desired hp range but this is where you all come in the picture.. i´m looking for a good combination of a fast spooling, reliable, most bang for the buck engine so to speak. thus i would like to use a lot of the parts i have lying around to keep the cost down.

for now my spec looks like this:
on the shelf i got evo9 pistons/rods, brand new evo8 turbo twinscroll with a 20g compressor wheel, ss chineese elbow(intend make the oultlet 3"), a chineese evo8 twinscroll ss exhaust manifold (design looks ok & i intend to rebuild it to fit my engine), evo3 intake manifold and throttle housing, evo9 injectors around 560cc i think?, evo3 cams, "street ported" cyl head (will matchport the intake) 2.0 crank (need to go 0.25 overdimension), evo8 ic.

the car will run on 98oct gasoline

also have a 2.4 crank.

my thoughts are something like: if i go with the 2,4 crank i´ll probably need new forged rods & pistons and still wont have a acceptable rod/crank ratio if i dont get a 4g64 block that requires even more mods to make it fit?

if i go with a bigger turbo maybe td06-20g or other? will i need different camshafts? will i need to stroke the engine to get an acceptable spool?

would i benefit from other cams even for the td05-20g?

i´m guessing there are plenty of you out there that has tried different combinations somewhere around my powergoals so please help me figure out a good and priceworthy spec

(ofcourse i would like a kiggly mivec conversion but this engine is on a budget for now)

I am having similar problems. Once we get over 30 posts, you should be able to post in more technical areas. Ive been on this forum since 2004. My DSM has been in storage since 2006 and even though I have been modding it since 1997, I can't post in most areas yet.

You might post in Engine Swap Tech, as this is going in a Peugeot 206.

With a 20g youll be looking at around 350-400 hp iirc. Also, 560cc injectors will be way too small and will be maxed out well before the turbo. Look for injectors 800cc or larger to be on the safe side. Also on your list I didnt see an AFPR or tuning software.

Also, if you are going to spend the time to port your intake runners, may as well port the exhaust runners to a mirror finish or close to it. Jafromobile has a good video with many useful tips for porting a head.

thanks!

you are right about the injectors, afpr i will probably go with an hks unit.
about the tuning software i am not sure yet as this is a project car that is not finished. i might go with ecmlink, i also read about using evo8 ecu with some program to flash the ecu or even use a standalone system.

the head is already ported and assembled ready to mount.

update!
i will be using the 2.0l crank with evo9 rods & pistons and i will use the evo8 turbo with 20g comp wheel.

the question that remains is how to make a good match of turbo & camshafts? can´t seem to find any good info about it.
as the turbo is brand new and i have to machine it to fit the 20g wheel and also balance it i might aswell fit a td06sl2 or td06h turbine shaft and machine the turbinehousing if it would be a better combination than the td05h shaft?
if so, is my existing evo3 camshaft ok or would it be better with some other?
thanks
