Real quick. My car worked fine. I took out my current tranny and put in another so I could have my current tranny resealed. I put this other tranny in I got for cheap and when I started up my car there was no noise. If you rev it up a little bit at all there is this nasty chattering/grinding noise, but if you push in the clutch and rev it up the noise goes away. I tried to drive it slow and it felt not right, when I floored it it felt like the clutch slipping big time, but my clutch is good, everything was cool before.
I even took out the clutch fork, pivot ball and TOB from my tranny and swapped it over. I just dropped the noisy tranny and everything looks good with my clutch. I called the guy I got the tranny from and he told me it sat out in the rain for like 3 weeks and it was full of water until the day I picked it up, but he said it shoulda been fine. I know that is a red flag, but is this a common problem with the tranny or clutch/flywheel?
Another thing I thought was clutch chatter, but Ive never heard it before. I noticed the clutch engagement was right off the floor and it wasnt before, but this would make me think the TOB couldnt be dragging on the PP fingers because of the engagment being so quick off the floor, and it dosent do it at idle.
