Hopefully this doesnt piss anyone off... I read on here before that the narrowband setup is pretty close to accurate at WOT. I already searched and couldnt find the post Ive seen before. Is this right? Im asking bc I just hooked up my autometer af gauge and before I got my MBC on when it would spike to 20+ psi it would be reading very rich. I have a safcII but I havent done anything with it yet bc I dont have a logging setup yet. Just to see how it reacted I played with it a little, I set the 3K to 5K range to -13 and it was a noticable different at 16psi. Also, it didnt sound like it was running very lean either. I only did it once and reset everything bc I dont know whats really goin on in there.

No they are no good. I hooked one up I wouldn't even now how you would tune even at wot that light was everywhere..
 
Exactly what pooker said. Narrowband O2 gauges (aka air/fuel gauge) are junk. If you're going for the ricer look or need to fill up an open hole in the gauge pod, then go for it. All it is good for is a light show. Yes, it can give you a little info, but you should get a wideband O2 setup. Much more accurate and can actually be used for tuning.
 
No, a narrowband O2 sensor/gauge is never very accurate and definitely should not be used to tune with. Wait until you get your logger hooked up before you start tuning with the SAFC.
 
I would not be running that much boost or changing anything without at least a logger or WBo2.

that much boost as in 16psi? Im not going any higher than that and I havent. I was asking bc when it would spike (before I fixed that prob with the MBC) it still read rich... which of course didnt make sense to me.

Thanks for all of the responses. The only reason its there is bc I just got a vent pod and needed to fill the second hole. Ive had this gauge for years now.

Another question... I know someone selling this setup cheap (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php). It says on the site that itll work with the autometer gauge. Im guessing I can use my af gauge with this wideband setup as a true wideband configuration, am I right? Im not ready to tune yet, I dont have the 14b on or larger injectors along with other things in my goals...

Innovative products only work with innovative parts, that is what I use. I am tuning with the lm-1 wideband and an rpm converter, they sell a gauge for it that hooks up to it if you don't like having that big box in the car..

Agreed a logger should always be the first mod in my opinion. I am not sure if anyone has said this yet, but the thing with narrowbands is it is not the actuall gauge that is inacurate but our stock o2 sensors, that is the whole reason a wideband comes with its own and cost so much as a replacement sensor..
