Background info, can be skipped!

--------------------------------
My 93 ES has been sitting at a (friends) house for a few months and I have the real creapy feeling that someone's probably put sugar or something in the gas tank by now after hearing a few people say things...

Regardless of whether or not that's the case, I'm going to have to pull the fuel pump out anyhow to fix the leak around the seal. And since the original fuel pump already has 140k miles on it and I'm going to do the best I can in the next 2 months to replace enough things so it won't break down in a long time, and since I may be turboing it next year. (I've had my 95 TSi for 2 whole days and I've wanted to do nothing but drive it....)
-------------------------------------

Actual question:

Can I safely upgrade my 2.0 N/T to a Walboro 190 with no mods or fuel management? I don't know a lot about fuel pressure/management yet so if this requires a complicated answer, I'm ready to be educated!

No long answers needed: you can replace your stock fuel pump with a Walbro with no ill effects.

And I think I remember seeing that sugar doesn't actually ruin your fuel system on MythBusters...

:thumb: Awesome, thanks for the answer.

I'll do some research into the sugar thing just to be sure, thanks for that info too.

man thats messed up that people do that to other people, but karma will get them if they did, unless you slept with someones girl friend or somethin LOL. But i think the n/ts run rich as it is because lack of air flow, so id think putting a bigger pump would only make you run richer, because my n/t ran rich as hell. But i guess look into the sugar thing some more, im not so sure its a myth.

A Walbro won't make you run any richer; as long as the FPR is doing its job, regulating fuel pressure, then your AFR should stay the same.

The walbro will be fine,as long as its not the 255 version.Im running a 3000gt vr4 pump, its 180lph and I'm also running the n/t fuel pressure regulator(makes my 450's 505's) and it's running great now.
