i have read a few things and i can't really find what i'm looking for or a straight answer. i have a perfectly good non turbo block sitting in my shop and i am planning a build and i need to know if i can use it without installing oil squirters. i am shooting for 350-400 hp and i will be using 1G big rods with 95 pistons, stock 6 bolt crank and i am porting the head with some better valves and springs with 3g lifters. all i'm looking for is no you don't need to put squirters in or yeah you do. thanks for your help

Yes it will work. I would recommend you at least throw in some oem squirters.

Yes, It will work. YOU DONT NEED OIL SQUITERS. Ive been running a stock n/t bottomend -bs @ 25 psi on a 16g for the last year and a half.

so just to be safe i will switch out the 95 pistons with evo 9 pistons. i was going back and forth between the two anyways. now another question to throw at you guys, are the non turbo and turbo rods the same material? i know they are the same length and everything but i heard from someone that they were amde up different. thanks again

I understand where donnie is coming from, but I too have pushed an n/t block with no squirters; pushed to OVER 38lb/min with a small 16g screeming for it's life. Best I ever ran was a 116mph with the small 16g. Completely maxed out off the map. Stock 1Ga pistons.

I have a stealth tt in my driveway that trapped 117, at 4,000lbs, with a n/t 6g72 block, and stock cast tt pistons. But, turbo 4g63 blocks are way easier to come by than 6g72's. It will work, but he could find a turbo block cheaper than machining squirters in his. For the price of everything he is doing, he could throw some forged pistons on the 1g rods and be good to go, with a larger tuning window.

The N/T crank and rods are identical. The only difference in the N/T block is the oil squirters and the pistons.

Or not run squirters and roll with it ;) As Marco has said, 'Oil squirters? I say oil cooler much easier, much cheaper, much more effective.' Before that he said something about b!tches bowing down and running more power than anyone with a hyundai block and crank ;)

I think it's all preference. There is no wrong answer. . . Also, yes, forged would be very nice and certainly is built for higher piston crown temps.
