Block Question

I have a six bolt block that I'm getting ready to send out to the machine shop soon. I remembered that JAM Racing engines smooths out the oil passages in the front of the block. While I was doing this I noticed a small hole in the block next to the oil passages under the balance shaft hole. I don't have an extra oil pump gasket to hold up against it, is this hole suppose to be there or am I in trouble.

Yes that hole is supposed to be there. It would be pretty hard to create a new one.

If you mean this one circled in red, then you just need to clean up the casting flash a little bit.

Ok ill pick up a gasket before I send it out to match up how much I need remove. What is that hole used for?
