I have an n/a 4g63 out of a 94 talon, the compression is uneven, that's why i pulled it. I was wondering how hard it is and what i have to do to rebuild it as a turbo engine? I know it would be easier to just buy a stock turbo engine but all the turbo engine i find aren't worth even rebuilding or way out of my price range. I'm not trying to do this quick, I'm planning on taking my time, as such my budget is going to change. Any help you could give me would help a lot.

turbo cams, turbo piston and maybe get some oil squirter machined in, thats about it internally

the build will depend on your budget and goals... what are they?

you will need more than just pistions and cams.... also add fuel injectors, wire harness and ecu just to get to a stock turbo set up

he said rebuilding as a turbo engine INTERNALLY,

externally;
as as stated above

ecu, wiring, injectors, fuel pump upgrade,
bov, ic, piping, turbo exhuast mani, your choose what turbo, turbo oil pan,
extra vacuum hoses, turbo tranny, it maybe a little easier to buy a full swap
on one of these jdm engine importer sites for under $1600 dollars your choice...

Internally you'll need pistons, rods, cams. If you've got the money, get main bearings, and a full head off a turbo'd car for more air flow.

Externally you'll need a fuel system upgrade, ecu, wiring harness, turbo, exhaust components, intake components, clutch, boost gauge, wideband.

Or...you could just buy a wrecked turbo'd car and swap motors.

well just find a turbo engine, or block, and go from there, all your doing is getting everything you need for a turbo engine and putting it in your shell.

dohc 4g63 heads are the same just different cams.

do you really need turbo cams?

You don't NEED turbo cams, infact only the intake cam (IIRC) is different between the turbo and non turbo 4g63's.

To the OP: You'll wanna get the block machined and tapped for the oil squirters, if your looking to build a stock block turbo motor, or just skip that part and buy forged internals (pistons / rods).

What is your goal with the car?

I only plan on boosting about 14 psi or so, but i wanna be setup so i can boost about 21-28 psi if i want to. I'm just lookin for a way to get about 300-400 hp. I know that the 4g63 can reach that with the right tuning

What you need is a good set of pistons and rebuild the motor. And you will have a stout powerplant. Do it right, and you will always be smiling.:thumb: These pistons will get you off on the right road. These are 8.5:1 and .20 over. PM me if you're interested.
