N/A to turbo conv.

I helped a friend do a turbo install on his stock n/a 92 gs. We pulled all the parts off a 90 gsx. It has all stock intercooler piping, side mount, BOV, intake with mas, the turbo came off an automatic so i think its a 13g, it has the stock o2 housing and down pipe. We got the turbo gsx ecu and stock 450 injectors. When we ran that set up it got fuel cut around 4k. We reinstalled the stock n/a ecu and injectors and it runs. It boosts, but not till around 4k. It has alot of hesitation at times around 3500. Does anyone have any ideas? Its running stock boost so like 7psi if im not mistaken. The downpipe is weleded up to the stock n/a cat back. Could that be our problem? Any help, sugestions, or ideas would be great.

when it has the fuel cut at 4k, does it like bog down like hitting a brick wall, or stutter like running too rich. if either then would suggest a boost leak test.

When we had the turbo ecu in and the 450's it like studdard but it wouldnt rev past 4k. Now that we have the stock n/a ecu and injectors in it studdards a little around 3500 but once you get to 4k and the turbo spools it hits hard and keeps pulling all the way.
