I just found somebody who offered to sell me a 16G turbo, o2 housing, stock SMIC, all the piping and hoses, and the turbo exhaust manifold for $175. I've been thinking about turbo-ing the car for a while anyways, I just want to make sure its worth the purchase before I buy it.

I'm new to turbos so I'll probably send it out to a shop to have it installed. What other components are there in the turbo system that I'll need? How about other upgrades? What about the ECU? Any wiring that has to be done?

Its a 1991 Laser RS, 4G63 with an automatic tranny.

There are places to look for information, i did it its worth it. Check VFAQ.com, and do a search for non turbo to turbo, there a few places ive found online to do this.

I can't find the resistor pack on ebay. I actually was wondering about the MAF sensor anyways because I got an aftermarket air intake for it and it doesn't have a place for the MAF... do I have to relocate it?

Go to ebay or a junk yard, i got lots of stuff off ebay, it wasnt that hard. It was intersting now i really understand my car, and have upgraded, and learned so much.

Yeah I always thought a turbo setup was really complicated but reading the directions on that site I understand everything and can picture it (or can picture if I was to do it on my Pontiac anyways, I figure the Laser should be similar)

I only found 1 junkyard that has any turbo 1g DSM's and they had two TSi's. By the time I found them the entire engine bay was stripped. not just the motor... everything. So it looks like ebay is my best bet.
