I recently purchased a 1991 Eagle Talon 2.0 ltr. non-turbo and am planning on putting a great amount of money and time into it. The main question I want to ask is where do i start with the conversion to a turbo system, and what all needs to be done in order for this conversion to work properly?

Check the Tech Guide in the turbo section. There is a thread on turbocharging using parts and another thread on how to swap a turbo motor into your car. (Towards the end of the list)

(I didn't check your profile yet, but I'm assuming you have the 2.0 liter n/t 4G63)

Basically you will need the turbo itself, manifold, dowpipe, o2 sensor housing, turbo block and turbo cams and turbo oil pan, turbo intake with blow off valve and lower and upper intercooler pipes + intercooler, turbo MAF, bigger injectors, new ECU and possibly a new wiring harness. Its alot of stuff...some of this stuff you might not need, but if you want a total turbo conversion then you will need all of these items.

dont try to put the 4g63t in that is a pain in the butt!

Ummm no. The 2.0 L 1G non turbo (FWD) chassis is EXACTLY the same as the 2.0L 1G Turbo chassis. The 4g63T will replace the existing 2.0L 4G63 NA perfectly (direct bolt in).

word of advice.....save your money and just buy a turbo version it'll be less of a headache

I agree with this, the swap will be expensive. However if you want to be cheap about it, you could just slap the turbo on with a new manifold/o2 housing/downpipe along with injectors and intercooler (+ piping) and some kind of fuel computer (SAFC) and just turbo your non-turbo 4G63...but it would probably detonate alot because of the high compression pistons. If tuned right you could make decent reliable power. However, even doing this will probably cost you more than your car is even worth.

IT is a big job, but the 1g n/t is alot easier that the 2g n/t.. Like was said above the 4g63t is a direct drop in, you just need all of the turbo parts that are in the gen 1. The easiest way to go about this would be to find a wrecked 1g turbo. That way you can see how it goes together, and have all of the parts you need. Good luck if you decide to go this way. It will be a big job but you will be happy in the end.:thumb:
