Hey guys, I have a list that I want everyone to take a look at and me what they think. Any suggests is great. Its a list of Mods I want do use for tuning. I have a
Perrin Performance MBC, and HKS BOV. Tial 44mm Wastegate w/ Garrett T04B 50 trim setup.

SAFC 1- Ebay($250.00)

Autometer O2 Wideband- ExtremePSI.com($340.00)

MAF Translator- ExtremePSI.com($230.00)

FIC 650cc Ball-Style Injectors- ExtremePSI.com($350.00)

Walbro 255 HP with Install Kit- ExtremePSI.com($100.00)

Fuel Pressure Regulator(Aeromotive "A1000" Complete Kit w/-6AN Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pressure Regulator, Aeromotive 0-100 PSI Gauge and Stainless Steel Fuel Pressure Regulator Install Kit)- ExtremePSI.com($250.00)

iMFD Data Logger- ExtremePSI.com($250.00)

Straight Thru Exhaust w/ A'pexi N1 muffler no Cat.

Then I'm gonna pick up a FMIC

I also have a question. My original choice of fuel injectors was 1050cc but my buddy told me that 650cc would be ok. He said he wouldn't go any higher than 850cc, he said I would have to get my ECU shipped away to get chipped

Is god himself going to deliver that wideband same day shipping to your front door? Personally I'd look around for better prices, the list looks pretty good, but the prices are a little high for my liking. An AEM Uego is $218.11 from maperfomance.com.

I wouldn't buy BOTH the MAF Translator and an AFC, as they both have a lot of tuneability. I believe the newer MAFT has .5% adjustments, so that's fine enough that you don't need the AFC. Your money would be better spent on getting a chip to properly compensate for the injectors.
I generally recommend 750's instead of 650's, since they run the same, and are the same price. FIC 750's are on sale for $250 until the end of January if I recall.
What octane is your pumpgas there? Do you have an EPROM ECU? Those are factors to consider. A good FMIC is always a good idea. ;)
What are your goals? Do you plan to vent your BOV to atmosphere, or why are you going with the GM MAF?

Your gonna spend $480 on a Safc and Maf-T? for that much you could get be running SD... .

If you realy wanna vent you BOV just get theMAF Translator Gen II
and spend the money your gonna have left over from not having to buy the SAF-C and get a chip http://www.dsmchips.com (if you have a Eprom)and the bigger injectors you wanted sucks having to buy bigger ones down the road when you run out of fuel and want more...

O ya and forget the "iMFD Data Logger- ExtremePSI.com($250.00)"
Just download MMCD and get a cheap Palm
and if you have a laptop you can log everything off the MAf Gen 2 with TunerPro

250$ for safc sounds a little high, look at the classifieds on here, im sure i saw one for less than that. And about the injector question, look at it this way do you plan on getting a large enough trubo in the future that needs something bigger than 650s?

No I don't think god is delievering thatLOL. Are the Uego"s any good, because I read on dsmtalk.com and all they said was that they were junk.

(I don't know how to put multiply qutoes on one post so I hope this is ok)

What are your goals?

Here on PEI we only have 91 octane . I do not have a EPROM ECU. My goals are to have around 350hp for a DD. I was planning to vent my BOV to the atmosphere but a few fello DSMer's say not to. Not sure why.

MY1GDSMspend the money your gonna have left over from not having to buy the SAF-C and get a chip DSMChips.com | DSM ECU Chips Enchanced by Keydiver (if you have a Eprom)and the bigger injectors you wanted sucks having to buy bigger ones down the road when you run out of fuel and want more...

Ok. So I would have to find a EPROM ECU, get it chipped to properly run the injectors. And would there be such thing as going overkill on the injectors. For example runnning 1050cc

I have been looking around different sites for parts. Theres one here in Canada but I don't know if there Legit, there stuff is pretty cheap.

RoadRace has a nice guide for injector size on their website, and with 91 octane limiting you the biggest I would go is 750cc.
IMO, venting your BOV is always a bad idea, and going to a GM MAF just so you can vent is just asking for a tuning headache. The GM MAF wasn't designed to be run in a blowthru configuration, and way too many guys have issues with the tune changing everytime the weather changes.
For 350 whp I would just stick to a reliable 2G or 3G #482 MAS. ECMTuning can convert your non-EPROM to an EPROM for you, and it would be money well-spent if you can't find an EPROM ECU locally. With just a piggyback and 650cc or 750cc injectors you are going to have knock issues that will greatly limit your HP on 91 octane.

SAFC 1- Ebay($250.00) - If you must, get the SAFC2 used for ~$150

Autometer O2 Wideband- ExtremePSI.com($340.00) - Get the Innovate LC-1 instead.

MAF Translator- ExtremePSI.com($230.00)

FIC 650cc Ball-Style Injectors- ExtremePSI.com($350.00)

Walbro 255 HP with Install Kit- ExtremePSI.com($100.00)

iMFD Data Logger- ExtremePSI.com($250.00) - I think there are some better options out there.

Straight Thru Exhaust w/ A'pexi N1 muffler no Cat. - Won't be sleeper by any means.

Then I'm gonna pick up a FMIC

With what you quoted, you're looking at paying $730 in logging and tuning equipment. If you're prepared to pay that much, just get DSMLink. There are other options as well, but since I don't have a 1g, I don't know them all. There are many other cheaper options though.

If you want to go the SAFC route, I suggest just buying one used. It's not like they get dirty or worn. I bought mine for $100 used, and sold it 6 months later for $125. There are better options than an SAFC. More bang for the buck.

You mentioned a MAF Translator, but you didn't factor in the cost of the MAF or the couplers to connect it to your IC piping, so plan a little more money into that route. You'll probably want a hard upper intercooler pipe to make plumbing the GM MAF easier if you're dead set on it.

I like the Innovate LC-1 myself. Most DSM ecu systems (piggyback and standalone) will often support it. The programmable outputs can be very convenient.

+1 on dsmlink, you can find a used one on the classified for like $500 including the ecu.

Extensive list......few errors how ever.

Drop the Safc and the Autometer wb02

Swap those for DSMlink and a Innovate LC-1, since you can just wire in your GM Maf, if you really want one, and your Wideband and log it all together and tune with it.

So you guys think that a EPROM ECU, Innovate LC-1 and a DSM Link would be my best route for tuning. I found a EPROM and DSMchips.com w/ the DSM Link for $260 before taxes and shipping. They also give $30 for my old ECU for a core I guess.

dsmchips.com has nothing to do with dsmlink, I think you're confused. Get an EPROM ECU and a chip burner, emulator, or just buy a chip ready to go. If you're up for spending more then go link I guess.

Getting an AFC and MAFT is a waste of money for a relatively poor tuning 'solution' (either one by themselves even is a waste IMO).

If getting something better than an AFC/MAFT, skip the 650 injectors and just go with something bigger so you don't have to upgrade them again. Bigger injectors don't usually cost much more until you get over 1000cc, so get whatever is the best deal; I wouldn't really consider anything smaller than 750's. Usually anything up to 850cc is very close to the same price if not identical.

There's a place called Advanced Fuel Injection (advancedfuelinjection.net) that posts deals on injectors here fairly often and they have the best deals; I haven't dealt with them so I can't comment on their service, only on their prices being quite good.

I believe Modern Automotive Performance (maperformance.com) is also having a injector sale right now. I have dealt with them and their service is really great. I think you can many times get a better deal by calling them then just ordering from their website.

If i was you i would definitely go with dsmlink rather than a AFC. And i personally use the autometer wideband and it is a great wideband but is also very expensive... The LC1 wideband is a cheaper wideband but I have heard really good things about it. Both the LC1 and the autometer can be connected with DSMlink...

I hope, the OP has already made a decision. Since this was LAST Winter
You do know a week from today would be a year from the last post LOL
