i jest got a talon tsi awd..jest put a evo3 turbo in with a 255 walboro fuel pump..it has a hks bov, megan 3inch turbo exhaust ,a Manuel boost controller and boost gauge ..any ways i jest wanted to kno how much boost can i set it to,without having any problems......also anybody with track experience know what my time would be???ohh and its a 7bolt 4663

My car doenst like any more then 20psi on pump gas. Its a 96 with a bigger turbo and FMIC. With the stock sidemount and stock injectors I would say 12-15 psi, but stock injectors scare me on a bigger then stock turbo.

"I jest got a talon" Use the proper words for your writing

Jest: Noun
1.A playful or amusing act; a prank. See synonyms at joke
2.A frolicsome or frivolous mood: spoken in jest.
3.An object of ridicule; a laughingstock.
4.A witty remark.

If your fuel system is 100% stock and you have no tuning method then no more than 14psi. I would strongly urge you to just keep it at wastegate pressure however.

You will never know how much psi you can run until you have a way to moniter your engine to see if it's fine with the added compressed air.

For your track times, don't bother asking as there are MANY variables so it's not able to be said unless you go to the track and run it. Just like bench racing, don't ask "what will give me x hp". However, you can compare your mods to someone else that has ran and get a rough possible idea. DSM 1/4 Mile Times - 1/4 ET

Fill out your profile as well.

I have a e316g and its set to 17 psi and sometimes turn it up to 20.. (for racing purposes) yet i still have the sidemount and stock blue top 450 injectors.... And no fuel cut or bucking....!!!!

I'm betting you are knocking like crazy and it's only in due time that you damage your motor.

ok thanks guys..ill try 20 and see what happens if not 17,15 and so on..and thanks for the english lesson ..LOL

And you wonder why these cars have a bad rep of breaking down all the time... Because of kids that don't bother with doing things right.

you seem in a bad mood broo..relax its jest cars..let him run it the way he wants..it looks like its working for him

LOL..i like the way this guy talks..how long u been driving it like that?

well i have a spare engine so im not really worried... :hellyeah: ive been on 17psi since ive got the car..witch came with no mods at all but the intake and e316g... even like that it ran like a champ... then i got crankwalk so i replaced it with a 6bolt witch i added all my mods listed on my profile...!!!! and now it pulls beautiful.... id say 6 months....! and for liquidX i had a friend let me borrow his data logger or whatever you call it and i barely got knock.... with stock settings... sooooo :boring: IM GOOD FOR NOW.... im waiting to see what happens witch by the looks of it... wont be soon..!!! LOL

It's not about him being in a bad mood. It's simply that we have no problem helping newbs out because we were all the same once. But, the thing is people have no respect for their cars, and want to do everything cheap and fast. Then when they detonate their engine from running so damn lean due to the fact that their fuel system could not handle the amount of air coming in (too much boost), then they come back here crying that they blew out their engines. They ask us newb questions like "How much can I put out of my stock system" and we tell them, but they go ahead and push over the max anyway.

It just gives DSMs a horrible name. DSMs can be very reliable. They can be some of the most reliable cars, even under high load. Hell, there are people here running 10s or lower while blasting their A/C.
Once again, proper spelling and grammar here.

So....have fun blowing your engine.

i have stock injectors..inly upgraded my fuel pump and i dont have any of those programs..jest a stock 95 talon ecu

Don't worry about how much psi to run just yet,get an safc ii and injectors at least 560cc, that's how you break shit, I was like that at one point a had a e316g on 20lbs with an safc and stock injectors and it fuel cut nasty, so upgrade your parts first before you try being fast kid

I would serriously look into bigger injectors/fuelpump/afpr and tuning if your going to do a e316g. If you are going to run higher boost on your stock setup with a bigger turbo, your going to be knocking like a mofo, which isnt good...

Pick up a datalogger and what not, even if its just a Palm and free logging software, its better then nothing..

1st, Liquidx relax a little ok? God if you get this worked up on a forum, i cant imagine you in real life. You made your point, you gave him the correct info, if he doesnt want to use it and be safe thats fine, he can blow his motor and then you can laugh when he makes a new thread saying "need to rebuild my motor, help!"

Second, his fuel system isnt 100% stock, he has a wally 255. So he can turn up the boost...a little I disagree on the fact that he needs to stay at 14psi, 14 is stock and also very low. Our engine is capable of much more than that and like i explain lower down there is a certain number you need to be "careful" of. I would agree that he should use some sort of tuning or managment system before he really decideds to up the boost. And just to turn up boost you dont need a whole fuel system, im going to stay with 550 injectors so im not going to need to get a fuel pressure regulator.

Now after that, i dont think anyone has mentioned what will happen if you turns up the boost to much really. If you crank it up, yes you will "mess up your motor" more or less you will blow your head and have to rebuild. There is a common number people use on here and its around 20psi. If you are going to be boost about 20psi you are going to want to put a new headgasket and studs on. Stock studs will not hold and the head can lift.

After all that, my own opinion. I have a ported small 16g, evo 9 pump, and stock injectors. I ran 18-19psi for fun for awhile, and the car is completey fine. Now im NOT SAYING you can do this. Im just telling you that i have been able to hit 19psi before i hit fuel cut.

So here are the facts, you can turn up the boost based on the info you gave us (the number you want to go up is all your decision, i would not turn it up more than a couple pounds however), your grammar sucks and you need to learn to spell, you might blow your motor. But hey, at least youll have fun doing it right? Hope this helps, there is a lot of stupid info on here sometimes.

Oh and i forgot....LiquidX, hes from JOYSEY, thats why hes says jest bro. You no, New JOYSEY, jest thats how they talk man, jagger bombs and heinkiens allllll night probally has him talking all funny. :p

I love how some people are so condescending to newbs. LOL give the person a chance. if he wants to treat his car like a honda, let him. Mommy and daddy will fix it. The way i see it, is that there is different categories or tuners, you have your fast and the furious who don't care much about anything other than "go fast" or looks, then you have your enthusiasts who don't mind staring at a E3B16G sitting on their dresser for 3 months waiting for fuel upgrades.

Im running 10-11 psi with stock side mount and stock injectors on a E316G and my wideband reads 11.0. So im pretty sure im safe without knocking or very little, I know for a fact id be scared to run 20psi or even 15 for that matter cause im sure it would lean the car out like crazy and cause alot of knocking! I might not be as fast as you rite now but I bet my motor last a hell of alot longer haha
