Here's the deal, my car is pretty far apart right now so I am trying to hook up my safc while I have some spare time. I've hooked up the 1 power wire and 2 grounds per the instructions on vfaq. I'm getting no power on my afc. I made sure the wiring harness grounds were hooked up.

I bought the afc used, so it is a possibility I got ripped off. So I checked the power wire on the wire harness with a tester, but I got no light from it. So at this point, I assume that I am just missing something.

Does the ecu have to be plugged in before the afc will turn on? Is there any other way to test the afc's power?

I've never installed an AFC before, but if all you need is ground(s) and power going to it you could always just run a 12v wire right off of the positive battery pole(fused wire recommended). I've often done this to test head units, lights, gauges, alarm brains, you name it.

okay, i tried connecting it up to the battery and it worked, so i know that the afc works now. thanks!

i've connected the rest of the wires, but i think i may have blown a fuse somewhere because my radio, seatbelts, and interior lights don't work.

thanks again
