Alright, I got a 95 Eclipse GSX Auto and the problems I got that I know of or least seem to be problems are that my O/D gear deff does not work at all, would that be a pain to fix? As mentioned in other threads, at high speeds or 70 or more the car does seeem to shake more than any other car I've ever been in, and 2nd/1st gear downshifts....whiplash. Takeoff....more like crawloff. "Power Braking?" gives me a slight jerk but no speed advantage. Peeling out? hahaha. I slam on the gas and it just does about 5 mph till it kicks into 2nd Gear, then things start to pick up and get going. Only chance of winning any race for me is to come up to a car going 10 + mph and slam on it, otherwise its an embarrassment.

Now for the questions, can that O/D problem be fixed? With the listed problems, would it be best to try and fix/upgrade or try investing in a new tranny? Which upgrades would be best to try and fix/improve these problems and which to get first, and if possible, where could I get them? I really like my auto, and trying best to prevent from having to transfer to a Manual, but getting my ass wh00-ed off the line by my buddy in his 88HP 92 Mazda MX3 gets really annoying. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

And oh ya, car is all stock except for an Apexi N1 Exhuast system, and some type of aftermarket Manifold.

sounds like you are hard on your tranny you might want to invest in a 5spd conversion.

Automatics can be made rather stout, a 5 speed conversion isn't for everybody, nor is it cost efficient. We've done several 400+hp cars with auto's that seriously haul. Personally, I love that slam back when a high hp auto shifts.

Don't think a MT conversion is a walk in the park.....even though it's been done, most people think it's easier to just sell the AT and buy a MT.
As far as prices go, AT internals cannot be compared to MT..

If your overdrive isn't working, check the fuse box under the dash. Check the reverse light fuse. It controls the O/D. :thumb: If it keeps blowing, get the console out and check for a stripped wire.

I've done 2 mt conversions in dsm's its not difficult. Even buying brand new parts for everything it wouldnt cost the 2800 they are charging for the auto. I guess it depends on if you want a manual or an auto and how much money you have to spend.

Yes, but at the end of the day, $2800 buys you a FULL race auto vs a stock manual if you convert. Not quite the same...

From what I hear, that actual "tuff" part is the clutch pedal assembly...
Also, 2800 seems low when considering that an AWD has to replace the entire driveline setup..

aight well took ur advice mike, went to IPT and got the end clutch kit, hopefully havent it installed within a week or 2 and see how that works out.
