Hey Guys, I finally sold my 1994 Ford Probe SE, and got my first DSM. It's a 93 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. Its in alright condition. Like I said its a project car. The paint is faded badly, steering alignment is off, needs a new front wheel bearing, need the vaccuum lines replaced and has a boost leak. (Not pushing any more then 5 lbs). I payed 700 cash for it and got 1700 for my Probe. Now I already have my family mechanic setting up a time to fix my wheel bearing and replace all my vaccuum lines, and i have SSAutos doing my wheel alignment. So if the vacuum lines dont fix the boost leak, what else should i look for or do to find out why im loosing so much boost. Also and after I get the boost problem fixed, what should I do next? I just want your opinions. I'll take some pics today and post them up for you guys, let you see what I'm dealing with.

Thanks,
Can't wait for your guys ideas:talon:

I'm not being a d!ck so don't take this the wrong way. Why don't you take this as a opportunity to learn and work on the car yourself. You will save so much money by working on it yourself. Also, if something goes wrong you have nobody to blame but yourself so you won't ruin ties with the ole family mechanic.

That said, follow the guide set out right here!. Make and perform a boost leak test. :beatentodeath:. To do this you need a compressor and about 11 bucks from walmart and one of those tools you put air in a tire with a guage on it.

Great youve gotten that far? If you haven't already, its time to buy a set of tools, gloves, and a haynes manual on how to maintain and repair your car. Probably the next thing you should buy after the boost leak test. Fix whatever is leaking if you can.

Have fun with it and remember to take care of it otherwise it may leave you stranded.

Alright ya i will go to home depot becuase i heard you can buy all the parts you need and do it there. but the thing is i dont have a compressor and nether do any of my friends, so what should i do there?

Its fine if you trust someone else to fix your car. Not everybody knows how to work on their cars. You should not worry about mods right now. Do things that that are going to make a good dd. I would not start working on your own car until you have read about it.

you might be able to use a compressor at a gas station...

does any one know if a compresser at a gas station would work? or no?

very very very true that did not even come to mind, hmmm, well ill try and think of some way i can do a BLT and illl get back to you guys with the update.

Thanks again:thumb:

You can use an air tank and fill that up at the gas station if you likie. Why are we talking about how to do boost leak tests!?!?:beatentodeath::beatentodeath: And Cappa, correct me if I'm wrong but why did you start a new thread on the exact same thing? You have another thread discussing the problems of your 1g and you even stated that you sold your probe in that thread too. I don't see your need to double post.....
