So today I picked up my new project, its a '92 6/4 bolt talon. First off the car is extremely clean in and out except for a fender dent that can probably be popped out, the shell has 98k miles, and the car has great potential. But Let me know what you guys think.
It has around 500 miles on a recent rebuild done right all stock parts except acl race bearings. The transmission is a 5spd that is still under warranty, and it was an auto conversion so all of the clutch components are new. Driveline-wise the car is excellent also; it has new axles all around, the rear end is in great shape, etc.
Mods:
Real mitsu 20g
Dsmlink v3
Fic 750's
wally 255
Gm Maf and maf translator
Mls Headgasket
Brass shift bushings
Short throw shifter
3" staight-piped with an open WG dump
Aem boost gauge
More...
Parts im adding this weekend:
Greddy type s bov
FMIC
Aem Wideband o2 (has narrow band...ewww)
The bad:
Needs a tune. Bad. Its drivable as is but its so rich i can smell unburnt gas at idle, and its even richer under boost. Also the interior is stripped at the moment, but i have it all and will begin the tedious task of replacing everything
I dont have any pics of it at the moment since i just bought it tonight in the dark, but ill add a link to a car that looks exactly the same.
Oh and my final cost was $2800. I think i did pretty well.
Pics of comparable car. (Mine looks exactly the same)
