My GsX build need pointers suggestions

my gsx 6bolt build
ok first off i just got the car not even a month ago. these are my plans on what im going to do to the car. i need you guys to help me on if the parts that are listed are compatible. this is going to be a weekend warrior car and maybe a drive here and there. i want it to stay on pump gas 91 octane. And maybe you guys can help me find better and lower prices.

intercoolers i was thinking around $400 range i seen the one that i wanted and now i cant find it. it comes with a greddy type bov. any body know if that kit is any good.

turbo i already have a big turbo but i dont know what kind it is tho here is a pic of it later tomorrow.

First off, welcome to DSMtuners! Second, whats the current setup on the car? Your profile doesnt say much. Thirdly, for the most part I would stay away from ebay. There are tons of vendors that give great deals from this site! Just click on the little "marketplace" drop down menu and go to town.. You may pay a little more from them but remember you get what you pay for. Most of these vendors have outstanding customer service. What are YOUR overall goals with this car? It will help us help you find what you need! Also remember, stick to your budget! If you keep changing your mind youll end up spending way more thne needed! You need to start reading and put your credit card away. It seems you don't even know what most of those parts do. First thing is first, wideband and logging.

i agree with the guy who posted above me, we need to know your hsp goals and yes stay away from ebay, but from what i can tell by your list, looks like your going real aggressive, if your shooting for the 300-450 hsp range then drop the cams down to 272s, make the car idol alot better then the 280s, if your convinced on the 280s then youll need a large turbo and a lot of boost as well as the build head with the springs and retainers you included in your list

from the head you want to construct looks like youll want more holding power then the act 2600 with street disk, its a great kit for the daily driver that will take it to the stip on the occasion and do a couple passes but if you bringing it to the strip a lot and will rarely drive it on the street then id say stick with the 2600 PP but look into the 6puck sprung or unsprung, just will make sure you dont glaze that clutch disk over, they can take much more of a pounding then the full disks, if you insist on the full disk, look into the southbend kevlar disk, guys talk about it all the time on the site, and many of them personally love them.

ok not trying to sound like a @$$ but you gata at least learn the basics on the car b4 you go and slap 5k worth of mods and blow it up and blame the car.

like mentioned hold on the modding and read articles and threads on this forum tons of useful info.

second decide what you want the car for like autox or drag, whats your hp goal? and most of all understand what each part does for you depending on set up.

im assuming you have some mechanical background and know a little bit about turbo cars so with that said first take care of the cars maintenance like belts and boost leak test and ignition for starters.

the 280 are aggressive but since you dont even know what turbo you got i wouldnt mess with engine till you at least get that down and fill in your user info so we know what is already done to the car.

your talking about an intercooler but i c one on the car already.

you can buy from ebay if you want as long as you know what your getting your self into and its name brand ... those who go cheap and buy ebay brands" end up spending more in the end just a word of advice.

these cars are great projects and fun to drive but do your self a favor and read and learn what these cars are about b4 wasting your money.

like i said, its not to sound like a @$$ just trying to get you to not make mistakes lots of us did.

first off at least the car has potential,from the looks of it,it does already have a running 6 bolt in it...you really need to sit down and do some good reading and research on what you now have.everyone who owns a true dsm knows that these cars are extremely temper mental.remember its not a honda,you cant just slap together a bunch of parts and just go to the streets let alone the track..do things in stages,get a feel for the car,then go from there..i like to always start with the maintainance...start with things that if not changed will cost you more money and headaches in the end.change the water pump,timing belt,tensioner,balance shaft belt(if still there),head gasket,valve cover gasket and other such seals and gaskets...once the car is leak free and is now maintained,you may now start upgrading...remember you just got the car and dont know how the previous owner took care of it....treat the car well and it will return twice as much...start small and work your way up...dont just think you can slap a big turbo and big cams and go driving....with this said GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!!

Do your research first brotha. Maintaince first! Make sure that motor is good. Wideband is the key to this. Do your basic mods first before you really start dropping some bills. Tuning is the key man

Also, get rid of that BOV, your not running a blow thru maf set up so your cars ###### running poor as piss right now. Get yourself a 1g BOV and recirc it.

Definitely get rid of the HKS bov and get just a regular 1g BoV and recirculate it. BOV vented to atmosphere is gonna make your car run like shit.

Definitely take your time and do A LOT of research on DSMs before spending money on parts that you're not familiar with their function. It will save you time and money in the long run.

From what I just read from google all I can find is that it MAY be a Garret T3 Super 60. I can't read anything else off the turbo so that is the best I can do.
