First off iv been trying to find my bcs i read its supposed to be on top of the aircan but i dont think i have a bcs on my car there is a fitting on the air can but it has no vac line on it and should the vac line from the top of the turbo go to the wastegate actuator without the t fitting going to the bcs also what kind of transmission fluid goes in these cars mine is a 5 speed its a 90 eclipse gst

Is it safe to run it like that or would it be a good idea to get a manual boost controler i know my stock boost gauge barely gets over 0 i do know it should run around 10 to 15 i think or it might be 12 i gota get a aftermarket boost gauge for more accurate readings there is a wire connecter just sitting unpluged by my airfilter im sure that goes to the bcs

I would get an accurate boost gauge before you start worrying about boost. Sounds like you're running off wastegate pressure at the moment.

And for transmission oils, you will need a GL-4 spec gear oil. I run Redline MT90 in my trans.

If im running off wastegate pressure would that kill my hp cause if feels like i loose power at half throttle its like the power just stops no its not fuel cut cause i read that feels like the car just stops but im not sure it might be fuel cut ima get a boost gauge soon from autozone they might not be a top brand but its probly better then the stock one

Ill take some tomorrow but as far as i can tell its all stock except for the missing bcs i did the k&n mod to it and the silencer was already taken out of the air can iv just been fixn odd things on it like the big oil leak on the return line from the turbo to the oil pan

The BCS is that thing you found with no vacuum lines. It stays plugged in or the ecu will throw a CEL. Without the BCS the vacuum line goes from your turbo wastegate to the boost source, that is wastegate pressure. As mentioned above the stock gauges are not descriptive enough to be of any use.

leave your boost alone until you AT LEAST get a logger and a boost gauge. these cars take gear lube for the trans, red line mt-90 is a great choice for dsm's. if you dont go with the redline make sure whatever you get is gl-4 compliant, our transaxles have brass and other fine metals in them that some lubes would be too harsh on and would in turn wear down your synchros. hope that helps a bit:rocks:

The connecter u see on top of the airfilter is the one i found laying under the aircan

looks like someone totally removed it. in 1gs you dont get a CEL for BCS not being plugged in, i leave mine plugged in anyway, maybe somebody removed their MBC before selling the car in the past and just hooked up the vacuum lines for wastegate pressure.

Thats what i was thinkng someone had a mbc in it then took it out when they sold it the way its hookd up right now would that make it loose power ima get a boost gauge today also i changed my transmission fluid and found out i dont have a shield over my flywheel im sure there should be one there idk ### the previous owner was doin with it but they clearly didnt care about anything

No. Running wastegate pressure does not mean you are loosing power. If you are noticing a lack of power between the time you bought it and now it is due to something different. You will definitely know more once you get that gauge hooked up.

I hookd up the boost gauge and it says 0 i hookd it up to the line coming from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator i even unhookd the line off the back of the gauge and i didnt hear any air comen out of it also all i did was rev it up sittn still i didnt drive down the road cause i just had the gauge hookd up under the hood to see if it was going to do anything

if you hooked the boost gauge up correctly, at idle it should read between 19-22 vacuum(unless you have boost leaks it could range from 15-21ish) but it should not be at 0 when idling with the car on.

The gauge is a sunpro mechanical and i put a tee fiting on the line that was coming from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator the one with the red dash line on it

is it the sunpro vac/boost gauge? in other words dose it have like -20 -10 0 5 10 15 20? or is it just all positive numbers. I no some of the newer sunpro gauges only read boost not vacuum.
