ok where to start i bought myself a 90 tsi awd
a lil less then three mounths ago. when i got the car it barly ran. i was looking for a new project. well i got it home and started taking a look through things and this poor car was neglected. a bunch of vac line that wernt connected hose clamps missing. there a missing plug wire i guess cus the dude had a honda plug wire on it that didnt even seat all the way down to the valve cover. injectors were leaking the timing was off. what sold me on the car was the head and all internals were new and the head had been ported. i saw all the recepts. any way the guy tried putting it back together but couldnt get it run rights so he decided to sell it so he could by a prelude with the h22
. well i started at it. fixed the injector leak, timed it correctly. got a new coil pack, plugs and wires. did all that and took it for a test drive still ran like shit and soon found out why when the ecu fried on me at a stop sign two blocks from home
. leaky caps= fry. so here we are today. got an 91 ecu and power transistor wired them in and it started up fine but was giving me the check engine light. went to give it a little gas and it died
. now what. well i am currently going to go through all the wiring i did for mess ups. and looking into doing a vac delete for it cus a bunch of hoses are undone any way. so this is the beginning of my restoration to factory specs so i can mod it with minimal problems. thanks for reading. ill post updates as i go.
