Hey Guys thought I would share my custom homelink install I just completed. I was going to do it in the visor like stock but I redid my headliner and visors a couple years ago so I didnt want to touch it again... plus I used a 2 part epoxy to glue the visors back together so I doubt I would get them appart easily.

WHERE:

Anyways here is the best other place I found to put it since the box is like 2.5''x4''. I got it off ebay for about $25 and they are universal meaning all you need is power and ground. One thing to make sure is that the homelink is the rolling code kind otherwise you will have issues with newer garage door openers since they are rolling code.

HOW:

For the install all I did was remove my center console cut the oval for the face plate to flush mount in and used jb weld's 2 part epoxy on the back side. I let it dry then put a little bondo around the front of it to fill in any gaps and make it look as stock and clean as possible after that all dried I snaped the box onto the face plate on the back and added some JB weld to that too just to be safe. For the power I just tapped off the cig lighter.

Here is the final product:

Thanks guys I appriciate all the posative feed back!!

The gauges were a PIAN! But I like them ALOT better than the A pillar. The gauges were actually Glowryder's idea I just stole the design and did it myself.

Its just fiberglass and alot of sanding and shaping. I used some styrofoam to give the basic shape and went from there. Just took a long long time to do.

Here is the item number for the one I bought. Any rolling code homelink will work. They all look the same besides face plate cover.

Go for it all it takes is some time. Also I traced the faceplate in some cardboard and used that as the template.

The gauges are prosport evos

Really very good adaptation. It's a good idea to consider, so we do not carry the remote control lying on all sides.

siick!! i don't have a turbo yet, but i WAWNT DEM GAUGES.
