my car keeps blowing the engine fuse. we checked the wireing under the hood. i dont know what else it could be

Which fuse is the one you're calling the "engine" fuse? When does it happen? Ignition key in "ACC", "ON", "START"? Any other details? Did this start happening completely out of the blue, or had some mod/s been made recently?

wild guess on if this is correct for the OP, but usually the "engine fuze" is the MPI fuze, blue 20A

I'm having the same issue. When I crank it blows the fuse.

There are close to 4 dozen fuses installed throughout the car. Helps if you can narrow it down if you want anyone to help. If you cannot identify what it is that you are looking at, or even find a pic; then how is one supposed to know which fuse or which wire you should be looking at? Is that simple enough? My guess is as good as they get, if not take it to a shop.

The 20a "engine" fuse is used in fuel supply, front and rear o2 sensor, and igniton.

I believe it goes from the battery to the MFI relay then to the ECU, injectors, front and rear O2, crankshaft position sensor, MAF, IAC, and emissions system. So try checking all of these and report back.

Check the noise capacitor on the upper right hand side of your intake manifold. Double check that the wiring is not grounding out. This blows the engine fuse. Not sure if its the same fuse your discribing but worth a look.

A fuse blows when it draws more amperage then it is rated for. This most often happens when the there is a short where some wire in the network is grounding.

Very good information. Also, do not forget the P.D.S or the J/B they can get hot at the fuse and melt a short inside the box and you will never know it. Usually shorts can be caused by voltage from another circuit back feeding current to wires, relays and thru fuses. If the wiring checks out, and the component checks out, then suspect the component that supplies that area with the power and check/replace that first if you keep blowing fuses.
