Hey,

I got my car back a few days ago from Slowboy Racing. They had it for a couple weeks doing some work to it.

When I first called SBR a little over a month ago I talked to Mark and he has been more then helpful answering all my questions and helping me choose what mods to get for the goals I had. Even before SBR had my car, I asked a whole bunch of questions and Mark was on top of it and answered every single one of my questions and was very polite and nice.

I had a nice list of mods I wanted to get done by SBR and had my install date.
Dropped the car off at SBR...met some of the people who worked there and they all are very nice and professional. Mark showed me my turbo and other mods they were going to install and of course answered all my questions again.

A couple weeks later...my car was finally done! Mark kept me updated with the work on my car and told me how everything was going. I went to pick it up. Mark and everyone else there was helpful and very nice. Saw my car and it looked awesome but the main thing was how did it drive and how much power did it have. I took it for a little spin and wow! The car is so smooth and extremely fast. It was exactly what I wanted! Mark showed me the dyno of it...318hp with the MBC set at 19-20psi. The car hauls...it has mad top end power! And best of all...its so smooth.

I met Mike for a couple minutes, he asked me how I liked the car and I told him it was awesome and 10x better then I thought it would be and it def is! The car is just insane...I'm so happy I had SBR do the work to it. They did an amazing job with the car and everything turned out awesome. SBR has my business for life! Mark and everyone else there are some of the best in the business and I couldnt imagine myself going anywhere else. Some of the best customer service, awesome work, and great prices-what else could you ask for. If you ever need to get anything done to your dsm...SBR should be on top of the list....Thats how happy I am with them.

Anyways heres some of the actual speed mods they did:
SBR Td05h 20g
Comp Cams 101200
AEM Cam Gears
02 w/dump
SBR FMIC
AFC II
650s
Walbro 255
GM MAF w/1g Translator
ACT 2600 + ACT Flywheel
BM LSD
They also installed KYB GR2 shocks and Eibach Springs
And dyno-tuned it

They did a bunch of other stuff too but above is the main speed mods and they did an amazing job installing and tuning everything.

Future mods for me...better brakes and a little bit later prob a bigger turbo
Again...Thanks SBR for all the help and the great work!

Now...what everyones really been waiting for...LOL....Pics

I would have just left it alone and cut, from the backside, the amount that was needed to fit the IC. i think that would look alot cleaner and it would protect the IC a bit more. To each there own.

I tend to agree on the bumper cutout. Here's how I would have done it. Out-lined in red to highlight the cutout.

Thats the kinda the idea of what I'd like it to look like but not an oval...
I'd like it to look like a rectangle....like a FMIC on a newer 2g

EDIT....Like to have my IC look like boostineklipz. But with that black plastic piece removed. So if I can find a 90-91 turbo black front bumper then I'll do it...otherwise I do like the one I have now

Maybe your not understanding....it had a Non turbo front bumper. The bottom of the bumper HAD to be cut for this intercooler to fit.

Non turbo bumper is different then the Turbo bumper. The bottom part of the bumper had to be cut!

This is what the bumper basically looked like when I got the car back from SBR...had to MS paint it but you get the idea....the buttom had to be cut for this IC to fit.

But yes...I am looking for a stock 90-91 black bumper...I'm not gonna buy a new one and paint it or re paint a used one...if someone has a black one for sale...i'll take it. And I dont like the looks of any of the aftermarket bumpers.

That looks like a turbo bumper to me. The turbo FWD bumpers are different from the turbo AWD's if thats what u mean. The FWD turbo eclipse i used to have had the exact same bumper. I have never seen a non turbo eclipse with that bumper. Turbo Talon's all have the same bumper regardless except for the non turbo's :talon:

my 90 gst had a awd front bumper on it thats how i bought it, but it didn't have fog lights so im guessing the previous owner put it on?

my god that has got to be the UGLYEST fmic setup ive ever seen! for gods sake man do something about that getto front bumper!

I don't know if you guys are looking at the pic or not but in this oine you can see that the FMIC would not have fit inside the bumper that is on his car. Regardless of it being what it is. It is the only one he had to work with so that is the result.

Also, he said he did not like it and is making an attempt to fix it.

Overall, nice car. Clean as it is I understand that you want to get it back to "normal". :thumb:

i dont know what you guys are saying???!!!! i think it looks bad ass! form follows function. it might look a little out there but makes your car look all business. sh*t looks strait off the track dude! OMG!!! :thumb: i say keep it like that and paint your intercooler black!!! that would look even more sweet! :thumb:

The guy did what he had to do. It looks different, alot of 1g owners dont care how the car looks. Nice car man!

Looks like you fell victim too. ;) :p

That intercooler is huge!!!

I drove this car and it's the reason I'm not gonna upgrade my turbo past what I currently have. His 20g>traction. AWD 2nd car is what I'm lookin for.

Front bumper looks ghetto to me, but if that is what they had to do, well then?

I have the exact same FMIC you have, and I didn't trim ANY of my bumper, and it fit great. Yes, it does stick out below the bumper about 1", but SBR tells you that on their website. The FMIC is a little overkill for my turbo probably, but I am happy with it nonetheless!
