My '90 TSi Bodywork

With a thousand things to do to get the POS GSX out of my garage I got distracted by this dent in my new car... I took my hand at some bodywork.


Dent kept staring at me...

and a little minor surface rust.

Used an electric stud puller to pull the dent then hammer and dolly to shape them skimmed it with mud.

Lots of sanding and glazing... The crease was the hardest part to repair.

Painted the rear section and feathered it into the original paint.

Wet sanding up to 2000 and then a quick buff.

In about a month after the paint completely hardens I'll buff it out again and wax. The new graphics on the bumper looks good too.

Rust was very superficial... scotch-brite took most of it off the surface. One of the many nice things about living in California is we don't have much trouble with rust.

It's not 100% perfect but unless I point it out I don't think most people would notice the flaws at a glance. Overall I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. White is a very easy (easiest) color to work with.
