Well, I have a gsx and the car runs fine but when I am about to come to a stop the car will shut down on me unless I give it some gas right before it reaches the 1k rpm mark, and if I let it go it will just shut down. Right now I have the afc set at +13 for the 1k low mark, could my settings be off? And will my turbo get damaged because of the way the car shuts down even though I turn it back on right away? If anyone could answer my questions I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks.

First off, why does your profile say you drive an N/T?

Ok, now are you venting? Have you checked for boost/vacuum leaks? Check the easy things first. But yeah, your safc setting could be off.

hey man,
well i've got an idea/suggestion that i used to fix my car when it did this.
for some reason every time my battery is disconnected my car will do exactly what yours does after i reconnect it and go drive on it. the only way i found to fix it was to disconnect the battery again, then reconnect it. then i turned the key to the run position with out starting it and let it sit for 5 mins. i then started it and let it idle for 5-7 mins. after that time was up i went and test drove it and the problem was gone. i was told by a friend who owns a 97 tsi talon, his does the same thing, he believes that the ecu has to relearn the idles points when the battery has been disconnected.
so i maybe be giving you unhelpfull advice, but if you have happened to have you battery disconnected recenty then you may want to try what i have to inorder for it to run right.
later,
doug e.

mine also does this same exact thing. if i dosconnect the battery for more than 5 minutes and the ecu resets, weird things happen.

i can turn it on and idle and it will be fine. as soon as i reverse down the driveway and put it in neutral it will drop revs to 200rpm, but not die. so ill take a drive. for the first hour or so it will be 200rpm, then the next hour it will have only dropped to 400, then by the 3rd hour it idles like a champ. i think its either my FIAV, ISC or TPS, as my ISC is dead and i got a new one but that one is also dead. but its really not that bad, i just dont disconnect the battery unless i really have to, and try to only leave it disconnected for less than a few minutes.
