Looking to loose the round can on the MR 3" system and replace it with a more factory looking muffler. Obvisously, something I'm going to weld up myself on the axle back portion, just wondering if someone has done this, or would have an idea for a muffler. Perfferably a stock looking muffler, 3"inlet, maybe 2 2.5 outlet tips. Also, going to make it come staright other than on an angle. I will post up pics if I can find the right muffler.
Thanks for any help, Austin.

Seriously?? Of everything i linked to, you can't put a muffler, with tips together and make a good system?

I have the tips i linked to, with the muffler i linked to. Have the tips spot welded in place at a shop and have it hung. The whole process cost me 30 dollars.

For those of you who can't click links, or put tips on a damn muffler.

It has a bit of an angle on it, but thats the way the pipe came out from my dejon exhaust. If yours sits straighter it should look even more stock.

Not anything close to stock like people seem to be looking for, but that was actually another option i was considering. I just hate the huge 4" tip.

Yeah me too thats why i'm straying away from the typical catback with the 17 foot wide exhaust tip. Those things could suck a wandering girlscout in there. Then what? I'm stuck with kidnapping charges when all I wanted was a stock damn muffler that flowed a little better.
Brainwash, the tips look great but I'm probably going to get mine to line up out the back i've always laughed at the guys that have the crooked ones ROFL.

BTW what tires are you running?

The pics make it look more angled than it really is. I tried to get them to straighten it up a bit, but they would have needed to pull it all down and re bend a bit. Wasn't worth it. So i'll just deal.

They're yokohama avid v4s's or something like that. 205/55/r16's, they're a realy good tire, i just wish i had gone with a 215 for a little more meat.

I don't get the black muffler thing.

Stock wasn't black, it was just a steel muffler. Black would almost be MORE obvious to me.

Really, any muffler like the ones i posted would work. I just prefer magnaflow.

i got dejon "ss muffler" 3inch inlet dual 3inch outlets looks a lot like stock after i painted it flat black leaving the tips silver, it stand out sounds good not very loud .heck one of my friends has a 2g with a 3inch magnaflow w/ resonator and cat and is just a bit louder than mine :p . i dont really like cars being to loud

Well, I like that other magnaflow muffler, but I'm still convinced at what I ordered is what I want. Can't wait to get it in, already got the wire I need for the welder. I will post pics asap.
thanks.

That's what mine looks like, as close to stock as I've ever seen... again, for anyone that didn't bother to look at it, the clip:

Compared to stock - No difference but a little bigger tips and shinier:

That's nothing. I've got a apexi n1, 165mm tip? Too big for me. Why I'm looking to chop it off and put something in it's place XD.

Not found :(.. Which brand is that?

I think i have something for you.Check Vibrant performance.com,they have stock looking 3" muffler with 3"inlet and dual 3"outlets and is stainless, but the best part is they apply some black coating on it ,so nobody is going to notice, especially cops. And the price is around $90.

I thought stock outlets 2.25?

BTW, 19Eclipse90... What tips do you have? Part numbers? Were you at the meet in Jan or going to the next one?

The muffler I believe is this one, I don't have any way of measuring mine, but I believe it is this one because the tips do not stick out much from underneath the bumper.

The tips on the other hand are no specific name brand. They are 3in outer diameter, 2.5in inner diameter (rolled edge), non-angled, non-slanted tips and are about 6in long. These I actually measured when I got the car back. And for the life of me I can't find anything exactly like it after 3 hours of searching. I'll ask the shop that did it for me next time I go up there.
If it were me looking to get this look, and after searching everywhere, I would look into something like this: http://store.summitracing.com/partd...906107+4294783392+4294906106+115&autoview=sku
The overall length is 12in, but the tip could be cut down to whatever length you want and welded on.

Morporex, you have been PMed with the answer to your other question so the thread stays on topic.

I put up a link before for tips. Check back on the last page for it. They're summit tips, about 8" long i believe.

Yes I saw that. The difference with the one that I posted was that the inlet diameter was 3in also, instead of 2.5in. The 2.5in diameter i measured was the inner diameter between the two rolled edges, not the diameter of the exhaust outlets. Which, now that I think about it, makes me think I may have this muffler, 3in inlet and dual 3in outlets, instead of the one I previously posted. Ha, silly me....
