Has anyone ran the DIS2 HO version (part#62113) on a daily driver?

MSD has a disclaimer on this product that says: If you run this product on a street car and use it for prolonged periods, it MAY get hot enough to shut itself off and stop working until it cools off.

I found a couple of other references using Google of daily drivers using the DIS2HO but no mention of an overheating issue.

Has anyone tried using the DIS2 HO on a daily driver? If so, care to share your experiences?

Thanks,
John-

I am also wondering this... I'm going to call MSD tomorrow and get the 411

I imagine where you mount it is going to play a major role in weather it will ever shutdown.
however....
even IF people have reported driving w/ it daily and never having shutdown issues,

i don't think i coudl live with the thought that at ANY time i'm driving on the street... for as long as i drive with that setup( be it a couple months or 4 years) that it coudl just shut off.
and leave you stranded on a railroad track, or in the middle of an intersection making a left turn, or when you pull out in front of a semi truck.
OMG

if you did mount it i woudl try to locate it sommehwere where it will be away from moisture, but have good air circulation to help keep it cool. preferably low in the engine bay.

Perhaps on the subframe near the firewall

I ran this in my old turbo Saturn days. I had it mounted in the passenger compartment under the passenger side dash. It was a daily driver, and i commuted 1 1/2 hrs each way to work. Never had one issue with it.
