well i looked pretty much everywhere i can think of right now for a motor and 5spd for my 2g and i cant find one. i know ive seen some stuff in the classifieds but i cant talk to anyone bout there parts for sale cause im a newbie. i wouldnt even ask this but now im desperate and NEED to get my car back on the road, would anyone on here know or point me in the right direction of a stock motor/tranny for my talon tsi?, its a 2.0 turbo-5spd-fwd only. thanks and i guess email me if you have any info. thanks again, Joe

i forgot to add that the motor i was rebuilding ended up being scrapped. somehow the block was cracked beside the #3 cyl., didnt notice it untill the block was cleaned..

Some auto part stores actually sell whole motors. I just started working at a Checker Auto Parts and looked up a crate engine for my car. $3,7xx. Almost the same for a 6-bolt crate engine, so I know if I ever need an engine quick... I can get one. Kragen, Schuck's, Murray's Discount Auto, and Checker are all owned by the same company. I don't know if any of these stores are out in your area, though.

If you were going for a more built engine, Buschur Racing, SBR, and a few other places sell blocks, heads, and built engines all with build options at various prices. You could look into those if you need/want to.

The third option is to hit up the junkyards. But of course, you can't be sure of what damage the parts that come from there will be in.

Also, I believe you can still PM people about their parts, even though you can't post in the classifieds.

Actually JDM is only $1,600 for the 2g motor and they have only 30,000 to 45,000 miles on them. And come with a transmission.

Sorry I was wrong on the mileage, they estimate they have 10,000 to 30,000 miles.
