Whats going on guys? I'm not sure if this thread should go in here or not but o well. For a while i was using a 10W-30 high horsepower synthetic blend by quaker state. By now that they have come out with the full synthetic 10w-30 Q by quaker state, the kind with the WRX STI in the commercial, they have stopped making the blend i was using. I have pretty much used that oil in my car since the motor has been done, which is just about 15K miles. I'm coming up for an oil change in about a week and just now i found out about quaker state not making it anymore. So far out of the threads i have looked at it seems a lot of you guys use full synthetic. I havent tried it and i dont think i would switch now, i have been using the blends since the motor was done and like them, and have had no problems so far, knock on wood. One thing i want to try and get rid of though is my lifters ticking. My lifters tick like crazy and i would like to try and get it to stop. It seems that a lot of you guys that switched to a full snthetic were able to get your lifters to stop ticking. But like i said i would like to stick with the blends. But if there are some other guys out there that know of some companys that make good synthetic blends, let me know. But even if you guys want to post up some info about different full synthetics, blends and regular oils, that would be awesome. But if you guys could let me know about the different blends you guys use and which one(s) you think is the best. Also, another question dealing with oil. Do different oil filters really make a difference. I know some of them filter and flow better then others but are there any out there that are really that much better then others. I have switched it up on the filters, between Fram, which i dont use anymore, Napa filters, and Bosch, which is on the car now. The other day i bought a K&N oil filter just to try it out,on my next oil change. If you guys could give me some info or feedback on this oil filter or any others. Just any info on which filters you guys think filter and flow the best. Thanks for your time, hopefully you guys will be able to help me out so i can find a good synthetic blend to use.

With my apologies, we're just not doing yet another "Which oil?" thread.

Either add up what's here and take an average, or check other places on the web.

The answer here always seems to come up as just not mattering enough to matter.
