motor mount question

alright the side motor mount has that huge bracket on it and i just saw a pic of a cupple dsm's with that whole bracket off but i thought thats holding the motor, but it looks nice. (still had the mount) and i didnt want to go cutting up the bracket and break stuff so is there like a little guide to it i looked everywhere or can someone tell me how to do it and is there any downfalls or possible to do this?

The entire engine/trans is held up by four mounts, it can 'hang' on one or two, but that is likely tearing or damaging the mounts.

Proper engine support is with an engine support bracket and relieving the pressure on the brackets to repair/replace them. This is a load of crap. You can use a wood block on the oil pan, jamming something on the block to jack from there as to not damage the pan or integrity of the oil pan seal.
There's plenty of ways, only experience will teach you how to not #### something up while you get some work done.

+1 well said on taht and another thing... eliminating that mount without having any reason to do so but amake it look cool cause someone else did it does not make yours that much cooler... you gotta be creative and make your own shit that how your dsm will stand out
