Well last night I was going home and turned West on Paseo from Jefferson. I was just cruising along about to throw second and then the car bucks, misfires and dies. I coast to the side try to start her up and she sounds like she's firing on 2 cylinders like a wrx sounds but worst. I call triple AAA and get a tow. I wake up this am pop the up hood and see the lower intercooler pipe hanging off. Cool no biggie I fix that and try to start her and up same thing and far as sound goes she won't rev and the belts and sounding funkie. I check and the alternator belt is loos so cool fix that and try again and nothings. All of a sudden I get smoke coming from the starter. I knew that was a bad sign since the starter is over working to turn the motor over. I decided to see if I could turn in by hand and nope. I even put a breaker bar and gave it all I got and nothing budged. I mean I'm 210 pounds and no weakling but this thing just wouldn't move an inch

I pulled the valve cover and spark plugs and all looked fine. I looked at the pistons and they are all about halfway down and no sign of damage. Same with the plugs eveything looked good minue the black soot on the pistons and spark plugs from running rich. I drianed the oil and looked fine. I have a magnetic drain plug and very little metal shavings where on it I even looked at the oil and did not see anything abnormal, I have 246 miles on the motor and have done 3 oil changes /filter changes and every time I have less metal flakes so all is looking good. I guess the next plan of attack is to pull the timing cover and inspect pullies and what not after that remove the timing belt and see what happend and hope things start turning. What do you guys think that is causing the motor not to turn over bent valves? spun bearing? stuck bearing, sezied oil pump???? Thanks to all earlier for calling/lending me your ear and ideas. I'm stumped I just hope to God nothing is wrong with the botton end. I can deal with bent valves and what not. Gimme your ideas boys.

It could be several things. You could have bent a valve bad enough that it won't allow your cam to turn. We dropped a valve and had the engine freeze up in one spot until we pulled the head. Pull the head off and tell us what you see. It will most likely hold the answer to what the problem is.

Metal shavings on a 246 mile motor does not sound good.
I have 340miles on my built 6bolt whit around 4 oil changes and i have never had any metal shavings.
Make sure you take a second look at the bearings.

Sorry guys I shouldnn't off said flakes I just meant normal break in shavings particles. You really can't see them they are just very small particles from normal break in of a new motor. Nothing that even raises a flag. I'll start breaking into it and report back tommoroe today I'm just going to relax.

Well looks like the rod bearings in number 3 took a crap. Looks like they are binded together. When I pulled the pan there where heavy flakes in it. Not sure what the cause was but we are pulling the motor out again and sending it back to the builder so he can dig in and rebuild.
