ok so im keeping my car off the road and thinking about turning it into a track car only and im thinking about losing the power steering and alternator and all, how much more power am i going to see since it wont be putting stress on the motor, and if i take both of these off what will make the water pump still turn or do i run without the water pump too. let me know asap because track day is on the 11th

What kind of mods do you have. If you are running a mostly stock car you are going to be slow with or without a few accessories. You really won't see much power gain from running without that stuff. If the engine can run them at idle, it doesn't take much power.

First, the waterpump you need, and it doesnt run off the timing belt.. It runs off your crank pully which runs your a/c, alternator (you need that also), and waterpump. The things you could take out would be your a/c and powersteering. For a track car those arent really necessary. But I dont think youll notice much of an improvement.

Before you take the power steering & A/C off the car. Remove the p/s and a/c belts and see how you like driving it that way. You probably wount notice much differnce. Even the 20 lbs of weight you save by totaly removing them is not a lot. Where I live I can not imagine on driving my car with out A/C. I currently have to drive a 99 nissan Quest to work without a/c and I want to die LOL. If I could only fix one or 3 of the other broke cars in the drive way I might have a/c again LOL

ok thanks guys, im going to keep it on but like nuclearr said im going to take off the power steering belt first, and currently the car hasnt had any a/c stuff in it for the longest time which sucks though here in florida with 103 degrees daily weather. thanks again
