14b, 15lbs of boost, 90 AWD. heres whats going on, I floor it in 1st and it takes off like a bat outta hell. shift to second and the car like bogs down, I have an open dump so I can tell its closed, it almost feels like the car is losing fuel, or air or something. when it winds out and I shift from 2nd to third and 3rd to fourth it picks up and the dump almost opens immediately and the car accelerates like it should. If I shift into second early and just ease through second it feels like it pulls harder than winding out first and entering 2nd at WOT.

I guess its time for a logger to see whats exactly going on. I just didnt know if the gear ratios were that different from first to second that this is somewhat normal. i dont have any idea what would be going on electonically causing only second at WOT from 1st gear to bog/sputter/SUCK.

it seems normal for a mostly stock car. my 2g has full 3in stock boost on t25 and full weak in second. First is fun and 3 in fun but second is a ### gear LOL.

ok cool. well, not cool, but I thought 2nd was noticeably weaker than other gears at WOT. I just thought full exhaust and my Streetlite FW would help spool faster.

1st to second has a larger gap in ratio than 2-3, 3-4 etc. This will put you lower in the rpm band in the next gear and more likely to drop off boost.

It also often takes longer for the synchro to match speeds because of the large ratio difference making the shift slower than say: 3rd to 4th. This gives the turbo more time to slow down, hurting transient response(boost recovery).

Good to know. This was something I thought could play a part also. Good to know my car isnt a total POS, just slow.:talon:

I've never felt my 2nd gear to be bogey from first ( 92 ply. laser awd turbo) but I shift at about 3500 to 4500 rpm and it it always goes. my bro said after driving me car while he was in town he loved 2nd cause it really got up and went. The only time my cars feels bogey or really slower than it should is shifting from 2nd at anywhere from 3500 rpm and on up it feels really bogey but then going to 4th it picks back up. But thats just me ,try shifting in that range.

If you like driving more than working on your car, don't boost in first. Get it in to second and go from there.

HaHa, so far Ive been working on it more. Im curious as to why you say not to boost in first? To be honest with the AWD I always do, but I dont have to. LMK

Probably because boosting in first gear is the hardest on your drivetrain, and the shift into 2nd from the top of first I can imagine as well.

I don't think I could give it up though....
