I was told that I would get more help if i started a new thread.

I'm having a problem with my throttle response at low speeds for example if i give it a good punch between 1k and 3k its like i have normal movement as if i wasn't being aggressive, but once i get past 3k and hit oh say 3,800rpms i feel the pull again and get the jump in speed. But its only really between 1st and 2nd gears. i have normal response with down shifting and higher speeds.

i read all over the forums about throttle response and tps is everywhere. i know now what tps is thanks to a helpful sir ..romeen

also i saw reference to the possibility of the clutch slipping, i have noticed that this response problem has been progressive and i have a '97 with its original clutch (new one in the mail) . how do i find the "TPS" on my car, ( a '97 GS SPYDER) and what can i do to it to see an effect to find out whats wrong with my GET UP AND GO!???

HELP!!!

The tps is the black "thing" on the front of the throttle body opposite of the throttle cable. It has a round part the size of a half dollar coin and a rectangular electric connector. I have had issues with the tps on two occasions and a bad one can cause nasty problems. One time it threw a check engine code and the other time it didnt so its hard to tell what the problem is. I would definetly make sure it wasnt the tps before you replace your clutch. You can get a tps off ebay for $15, which is much cheaper than a clutch. That link will get you started, good luck!
