More info about EPROM ECU's

I'm new to DSM tunning and I still havent figured out exactly what an Erpom ECU is, I know what and ECU is, jw whats the deal with Eprom, and what it does for your car.

It allows you to remove the chip in the bottom left corner of the board (has EB23E on it) and replace it with an socket, which accepts an aftermarket EPROM chip. This aftermarket chip allows you to monitor and tune the timing, fuel, airflow, etc. in your ECU.

New to the EPROM thing too, what cars can this be used on or is it vehicle specific?

For a 2g, you will need an EPROM ECU from a '95 Eclipse/Talon. These are the only years that came with them. This will allow you to run ECMlink, Keydiver chip, or custom burned chip.

With a '98-'99 ECU, you can do a search for ceddymod as that is compatible.
