More hatch problems!

So everytime I open the trunk, the water leaks out of the right side, but not the left and it ends up pouring into my passenger seat. Is there some easy way to fix this?

What is the condition of the rubber seal that lines the hatch opening? Go around it carefully and look for rips/tears etc. While you are in there check to see if your drains are clogged. That can cause water to pool up back there and make its way into the back of the car.

Yeah there is these holes that are along the opening right where you fluid cap is in the hatch and that's where the water will drain out of some times they get clogged up stick a wire hanger down them to push the junk out there is also two more up where the sun roof is in the two corners in the front

It's actully not the bottom part, it's leaking from the top if the hatch, like draining out into the car.

I read your other recent thread about cleanin the back seat so i guess you didnt figure this out.. Can you better describe where exactly the water is leaking from or post a pic?

both my 1g talons pour water into the hatch when i open it after rains

If its leaking into hatch lid itself it could be a bad window seal possibly or where the wing meets the hatch, there should be a small gasket in there. Maybe the rear wiper grommet too. Not sure where else it could get into.

Man if i get what you mean my 2g does the same thing is not the rubber seal nor the holes clogged, it "leaks" from the top corners of the hatch when is wet. It's normal and it only does it when you open the hatch right? I wouldn't care more about it. It is annoying but is the way the car is designed. It's like when you open the hood and water leaks on the battery same thing you can't do anything about it.

Its not normal. Water dont leak from my hatch. Somethings not right.

Check to see if the mounting bolt on the passenger side of the hatch is tight, and not a big rust hole.. My previous Eclipse had that problem. If its rusted then you will need to use some rust repair and water proof putty.

Just saying man it leaks ONLY when you open the hatch and is wet really wet not just a few drops.

Of you have the rear wiper then that's where it's coming from. I had the same problem, water would leak so I removed the wing and made a gasket with silicone and it still leaked. Replaced window seal, still leaked. Put silicone inside around the window and it still leaked. Finally one day I decided to seal the wiper grommet with some silicone and wa-la leaks were gone. I recently replaced the wiper motor and didn't re seal the grommet so it leaks a tiny bit no where near as bad as before when I would open the hatch and water would pour into my back seat. Try it!

I live up in Washington and it rains most of the year here, and when I open my hatch, I don't have water pouring into my car. Water has to be getting in through somewhere and pooling up. I don't think it was just designed to have water go into the car.
