alright more problems with my 97 gst auto there is a hole behind the trans where the axles meet up, I believe it is where a speed sensor goes. Is this true? Any other suggestions?

You are correct. That were the VSS goes. It is composed of the sensor (94-99 GST MD756606) and a speed gear. The gear is would need to be 95-99 FWD specific (MD757055).

Mine is auto sorry forgot to mention that in post would that make any difference?

Changed part numbers to reflect 97 GST Auto.

There is also a bolt that secures the sensor to the trans. Also, the connector on the harness is secured with a metal clip.
