I took the 2 front seats out of my 91 1GA and i found under my driver side seat is a 4x6 mitsubishi computer that has terrible corrosion on all the connectors, one side of the harness goes into my OEM looking alarm switch that says things like "impact alarm" on it, another part of the harness goes into the main body harness. All my searches say that this computer is an radio amp, but it doesnt make any sense because it clearly plugs into an alarm looking device. Anybody able to show some light to my confusion. im not looking to keep it, my car doesnt have any speakers or a radio so im just looking to clean out the weight a bit.

Finally got a picture of the thing.

I'd like to dropkick the moron who installed that "factory add-on" in my car. I hope yours was installed a lot better than mine... :notgood:

holy cow I didn't even see the other two modules. when you unpluged it were you able to start the car no problem? I havent pulled mine out because I'm halfway through my clutch pedal install and cant test if the car starts yet.
Did yours have an antenna wire going up the A piller on the driver side? this car is an electrical nightmare from all the add-ons it once had that do not work so im trying to identify it all. Remote start, factory alarm, the PO hooking up everything he did to the car using only blue 16g wire... trying to track through it all proves tedious.

I found this one weekend at the same time I was doing my heater core (about a year and a half ago) and it was not something I was willing to try sorting through on a Sunday when this was my daily. Needless to say, it is all still there to this day and will be until I find the rest of the harnesses I need to completely rewire the car.

If I recall correctly, most of the wiring seemed to run to or around the vicinity of the junction box and I don't seem to recall any wire going up the A-pillar on the driver side. Sorry I can't be of too much help here other than simply to say you aren't alone. LOL

Well i should be done with my pedal swap sometime this week so ill be sure to let you know. I need to get it buttoned up for a track day next month so it wont be leaving my bay untill all this weight is out.
