Modify Keydiver Chip?

I have a Talon with ECMLink and and I recently bought a Galant VR-4 with a keydiver chip. I want to switch ECMLink over to the Galant so I can tune it, but I want to keep the tune on my Talon. Would it be possible to put the Talon's ECMLink tune on the Keydiver chip?

I have a chip burner and a little bit of OBD1 knowledge from when I use to tune old GM cars. I'm just not sure how to transfer the tune from Link to the chip. I don't need to copy all the ECMLink bells and whistles, just spark, fuel, idle, injectors, AFR, and other general driveability parameters.

Depending on the chip, it may or may not re-programmable so you might need a fresh chip to start with. You can hand write the maps from the ecmlink tune and manually transfer the areas needed to write a new chip. If you're asking if there's some easy way to essentially copy/paste the ecmlink tune over to an obd1 chip burner I don't think there is.

That's no problem if I have to do it all by hand. I'm having a hard time ID'ing the chip. It's a 28 pin with serial numbers:

8J5223-3-34003B
1-P0942 E3

I can burn most 28 pin ST 27SF512, ATMEL AT29C256 and 29F040 chips. But I don't want to stick an unknown chip in my burner to read unless I know what it is, I really don't want to fry the chip.

You need to get a blank eprom and find the stock rom images edit it and burn it to the chip. There are some sites with different rom images around if you search.

Yep, looks like I'll need new blank chips. Just found out this one is a 27C256 which isn't re-programmable for me. Thanks for those links, I'll check those out.
