I tried searching, and doing a little bit of research on this.. but was unsuccessful.

My question is, can e85 be used as an octane booster? Like get 50/50 of 93 + E85... or it doesn't work like that?

Sorry if this is a retarded question, but 93 is getting kind of expensive around here, and e85 is a 1$ cheaper.

Yes you can mix it but only if you have some kind of afc. You have to richen things up to run e85 since its mostly ethenol. As a reference pure e85 takes 20-30% more fuel to maintain the same a/f ratio. However most people can run 1-1.5 points leaner safely on strait e85. And you can run more boost and timing.

This is a good question IMO, but i'm sure if it is possible ( which it should be ) I'm sure you'd have to remap for the mixture, being that half of your fuel will be e-85 which needs a lot more volume to keep the right air fuel ratios.

I woulnt do it, you will need to retune a lot. A wbo2 is deffinently needed if you plan on doing this. But major tuning will be needed everytime you mix, plus the mix may be inconsistent. Also it doesnt raise octane, it just fights detonation. Ethonal really does not have a octane rating.

Alright, well that's good to know.. :thumb:

Ok with DSM LINK this is easy as long as your fuel pump and injectors can handle it. You would just tune 1000cc injectors more like 850s. Or 700s if you run pure e85. AND if you go to any Shell that sells e85 it says rite there it is 105 OCTANE. If you are consistant with your mixing then do it. I plan on going 100% e85 soon. I did a few tanks mixed and had good results. Just needed bigger injectors. Now I have 1000cc injectors so im golden.

Well i have 880s, and my IDC is like 55% @ wot... but i'm not boosting too much yet, i need to do some thinking/planning.
