my gst has a bad misfire i tried changing the plug wire and plugs and still misfiring. A friend of mine say its could be anything fron ecu to coil pack. I would like to hear you guys suggestion on what could be wrong with the car, the next race event is coming up soon and i would love to run it on the track if i get it fixed in time any help would be greatly appreciated.

when you say missfire what do you exacly mean? rough or a noticeable one?

its a rough misfire. and i does not want to stay on.

double check the timing. make sure the timing belt didnt jump.
see if each plug is getting spark. I once had a plug wire coming loose and caused a small misfire and idle problems.
check the injectors too. I once had a misfire from a broken fuel rail bolt not fully sealing the injector in the manifold.

is it throwing a check engine light? If so then get it scanned and it will show you which cylinders are not firing. Double check to see if you're getting spark to all the cylinders. if not then check the spark on the coils. Just keep double checking all the little stuff first before you start getting into big expenses like an ecu

The check engine light is not on. Going to check the stuff you suggested tomorrow.

How do i check to see if the coil pack is good.

dude im having the same problem. my 1994 talon tsi had a blown 7 bolt in it and we swapped it with a 6 bolt motor. it ran good for a week then went to missing really bad. i have checked and double checked everything and I'm still scratching my head. I got new plugs, wires, coils, then stopped there cause the coils were so dang expensive i stopped there and said the heck with it until i can get some better help. hopefully someone has an answer for us here.
