Hey guys I am in the process of putting my 91 Auto TSi back together and I think im gonna need new bolts in random places. Is there an online vendor who carries them or can I get away with hardware store pieces? Thanks for the help.

Chris

Your best bet is post which one you need and see if anyone has it.IF you know the thread pitch and length its not hard to find the bolts at hardware stores.

My car was missing a lot of bolts, ran down to Harbor Freight and picked up a box of "100ct Assorted Nuts and Bolts for Asian vehicles". Make sure you get the one for Asian vehicles it was like $7, normal metrics will end in a helicoil(as I found out :notgood:).

dont mean to hijack the thread but is anyone able to tell me the specs on the power steering/ac belt tensioning bolt??thanks

Hmm i dont think we have a Freight Harbor near me. I also looked on their website and couldn't find the set. If you could possibly send me a link if you could find one it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Sounds like you had the wrong thread pitch. Most Asian cars take 1.5mm pitch. Korean cars take 1.25mm. The auto parts store sells everything from 1.00mm to 1.75mm pitch, so you have to know to get the right one, and never force a bolt.

I never forced the bolts, the guy before me did.:toobad:

Just to support the vendor The Mitsubishi Graveyard sells boxes of bolt that are factory for very cheap!
