Dude chicks HATE DSM's. I brought home so many girls and they see my DSM parked outside and they go wow that car is really nice. It looks really fast. I go thanks, then take them for a drive.. Then I get, why is it so loud?, why don't you have a backseat or a trunk? What is that weird humming noise coming from the back? Then they just get annoyed when you are on the side of the road for whatever reason. But I will say it is fun to watch the looks on their faces when they say let me see how fast it is and you do a 32 psi 3rd gear pull on the highway and they are screaming for you to slow down.Then you hear. "I'm never getting in that car again" Hahaha
, this is so true. Im practically married now but my gf hates the car and im sure just about any girl would too. Its loud, rattly, and scary fast. Not a womans cup of tea most of the time anyway. I get(well HAD) good results on my bike (zx10r), now chicks actually like that.
as far as vw problems, not sure if its that prevalent in newer models but the electronics in the 90's had alot of issues. Thing is, its never an easy fix and surely going to cost you a fortune just in parts to repair. I ran a 420a to 225k, not beating on it, and sold it. Saw it driving again just the other day. 420a wins in the reliability category from what ive seen and heard through others.
I remember one morning I went over a bump in my Corrado and the windows went down. Always had some surprises for me.
