Ok did a oil changed this morning went from mobile 1 to Royal purple to try to protect my motor. Did the oil changed and notice copper like flakes in the oil, not much but enough to be seen, cut open my oil filter and found the same.....not much but enough to be see. I am a little pissed and disappointed because we just rebuilt the whole motor a couple of months ago. When I bought the car I got it with a spun bearing. We rebuilt the whole motor I mean everything was changed but the balance shift, the old one was out back. Rebuilt 1g head, bearing, piston, piston rings, connecting rod crank shift.. and the list goes on. Any idea want could be causing this. I'm I about to loose yet another bearing?

Do you noticed any knock on start up? Also, it could be metal from assembly (although it should have been cleaned). I would say pull off your oil pan and just make sure everything is looking good and there is no front back play in the rods. Spinning a bearing sucks baaad, I lost my 3000GT to it. sigh.

I get lifter sounding noise on start up. it goes away after oil pressure goes up, and I thought it may be coimg from assembly like you said , but I have changed the oil twice to avoid a problem and did see any metal last two times, but not 100% sure chould have be there and did notice. The block and parts was cleaned.

How is your oil pressure? I couldnt imagine spinning a bearing with the kind of miles since your rebuild unless you really beat the shit of it, or just like, starved it of oil. Also a magnetic oil plug would be nice so you can catch anything and make sure it doesnt go into the oil pump.

It sounds like bearings to me.... When I got my motor from a friend with a spun bearing there was copper flakes all over the place. Pull your pan for sure!

i would take the oil pan off and check out your bearings. i had the same thing happen to me.

I going to give it a few more miles and then pull the the filter and cut it open again. The funny thing is I dont beat on the car at all. So I'm lost as to why a bearing may be going out again. Oh and my oil pressure is fine

You installed a new oil pump any everything with the motor rebuild right? I would be worried about an assembly error if indeed you are on your path to another bearing issue.
