Megan vs. Tsudo Downpipe ???

It runs great unrestricted, but it is illegal and I now have to breathe the fumes at rest.

Don't rest by the muffler or fix your exhaust leaks and you won't have to breathe it =).

That somebody is not me. The fuel/air mix is right on. No exhaust leaks. Plenty of red lights to sit at rest.(means not moving). The exhaust has that smell of a perfect fuel mix. Just like my old porsches and healy I had 30 years ago. The secondary burn off in the cat does indead do its job. Breathe what you like.

I have heard some great things about the megan downpipe, hands down winner in the budget downpipes, Punishment Racing makes a preety good one as well.

I also just got my Megan DP for around $120 shipped. I am amazed how good it looks. Just a small neck down to around 2.75 inches at the very top and the rest is 3."

Do you guys think its worth it to buy a buschur 3 inch downpipe? Does the buchur have a 2.75 neck? I wonder if the budget downpipes can be used on cars with over 450hp...

Go to www.kteller.com and get aTURBO back for $515 in 3" and add your own muffler.It willsupport 500HP. I have one on my car with the resonator and a magnaflow muffler. great deal and 02 elim's available also. Mark

I just looked on ebay and found the megan is the 2.5 that expands to 3" after 2 inches but at the end of the dp it necks down again to i think 2.75, why? and at truspeed.com, they dont have any full 3" downpipes that i saw, is there any place that has a dp that is like the megan but doesn't neck down and still connnect to the apexi n1? The AWD Megan pipes are 2.75" @ the O2 housing for maybe an inch then 3" to the flex and after the flex except for another inch or so of 2.75" @ the flange. The FWD Megan pipes are 2.5" before the flex and 3" after the flex except for an inch or so of 2.75" @ the flange. Hope that clears it up.

What are the measurements of the tsudo? 2.5 at the inlet to bolt onto the stock o2 housing up to the flex section then 3.0 back? or does it bottle neck down to 2.75 as well?

No. This is not true. They may have been like that before the redesign. My Megan pipe is a full 3" through the ENTIRE pipe except for the neck down at the very top to meet up to the o2 housing. This is actually bigger than RRE's 3" downpipe and most others which are 2.75" all the way from the flex to the o2 housing. The Megan piece is also full mandrel bent SS. This pipe should be better and support just as much if not more HP than the Apex'i DP's, RRE's, etc. Most people will say the flex section is the part that is not as good as RRE's, etc. So I posted a pic so people could judge for themselves. To me the flex sectiong looks good. Not an inch long like cheep ones.

Here are some more pics of the Megan DP. The weld at the top isn't there and you can barely see a sharp neck down where it would meet up to the cat-back. That's not there either.

I got my Megan downpipe today. It looks spectacular. I just have to hack it up in order to fit a cat in there.

I went with a tsudo and wish I'd gone with a megan. I had trouble getting the tsudo to line up with the bolts on the 02 housing.

Yep, I bought the Tsudo GS-T downpipe and had to take a drill to the holes on the flange because they were too close together.

I also have the cat-back from Tsudo and that bolted up great. Overall it sounds awesome but they need to fix that damn flange.

I guess some people have been having problmes installing the Megan DP. One guy's hanger didn't fit right, his o2 studs were too big for the dp flange holes, and the gasket's top layer came off. He was trying to mount it to the stock cat-back though and someone else in the thread said it fit fine for him.
