Does anyone have this downpipe? I am wanting to buy it but i can't find anywhere that says if it will bolt up to my O2 housing without modifications or not. Does anyone know if it will bolt up to the stock housing or do I need an aftermarket for it to fit? And if i need an aftermarket housing then anyone know of some good one's that will be compatible?

All exhausts designed specifically for a dsm is to bolt on to the stock o2 housing unless otherwise noted. So yes, it will work.

I have one, be aware the older MR downpipes did not fit the flange to the stock GSX catback. I had to have a 3in catback fabed up to fit. Make sure you are getting the right one..

What was the reasoning they gave for that one? If you remove the cat on a car with a rear o2 sensor it can throw cels, but all removing the cat will do is reduce the backpressure slightly at our o2 sensor's location. Which shouldn't do anything.

No reasoning, just it's what a couple of subaru tuners have told me. I thought it was BS at the time, still not too sure about it, but then I heard someone else talking about it happening on a SRT4 and a turbo'd integra.

About the CEL, what is the reason for it? Does it have to do with the sensor temp or something? Maybe the people I heard this from assumed the CEL meant a dead O2 sensor, and never bothered to actually check the sensor itself.

more than likely they just saw a code with the O2 sensor and assumed it was out. anyways, about the older style dp, if i'm getting the catback with the downpipe then there would be no problem with fitting with the old style OR new style correct? and also, when i bought my car it came with an HKS catback, i don't know what series it is or anything but i'm pretty sure it's 2.5" and the stock cat is still connected, could i get the MR dp and have it bolt up to the stock cat with that HKS until i get the money for the MR catback?

I don't think that would fit. The dp is a cat-delete, so it has extra length to mate it directly to the catback, wouldn't it push the catback further back and make the muffler stick out past the bumper whatever length the cat is?

No fits up fine. I have the 3" DP and HKS Hi-Per catback. Only thing you have to do is get a 3" flange welded to the catback. Costs about $35-$40 at a muffler shop.

And about the stock o2 housing, it will not fit it perfectly. I had to take my o2 house out, put it in a clamp, hold it down onto the o2 housing, then tighten the bolts down. It's hard because the edges of the nuts scrape against the welds a little. I had to use a wrench then another one as extra leverage to get them down tight.

Might just be mine though. Meh, it's connected now :thumb:

You took out the cat didn't you? -He and I were referring to having the dp connect to the cat, along with the catback.

The MR downpipe is indeed a cat-delete pipe, so no, it will not work with a cat unless you do some custom cat-back work to make a cat fit behind the downpipe, as well as work with 3" flanges.

Also, as Scott already mentioned, beware the older versions of the MR downpipe, which do have fitment issues. I called Megan Racing and was told that they haven't been shipping the newer versions to their vendors for very long, so I highly advise calling whatever vendor you decide to go through and making sure that they have the latest revision downpipe, or ordering from MR directly, but again, calling to make sure they get it right. It's entirely possible that some vendors don't even know about the revision (SBR didn't until recently) and still have the older versions as their stock-on-hand.

For reference, as you can see in Scott's pic, the bolt holes on the older version are at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, whereas the bolt holes for the stock cat-back (and most aftermarket cat-backs) are more like at the 5 and 11 positions.
