well this is my first post on this forum, i recently sold my supercharged 1gen xb and got myself a 99 gsx. i was tired of dumping money into the box and getting minimal gains, anyways, i am really enjoying getting cheesed at this car, i am leaning you have a love hate relationship with these cars, hahaha, i have had to fix it on the side of the road a few times, mostly because of a ic coupler that blew off the pipe. as for the thread title, finally, i got a megan racing 3inch downpipe and cat back the other day and spent the day installing them, the cat back wasn't too bad, but the dp was a pita, i had to use a 5lb sledge, a little grinding, and some creative wrenching to get it to bolt up to the 2g o2 housing. finally i got it all installed and it sounds great. here are some pics and a video of the exhaust. btw, pb blaster is the s**t...

I'm installing MR catback right now and have an interesting question... Is this Megan's mistake or I'm doing something wrong here? As you could see - "hook" is on the wrong side :(

Nice man, I have the same exhaust, but mine is not a burnt tip though.. Sounds exactly the same.. Nice setup

I tried getting a megan downpipe, but every vendor was out of stock. Where did you get yours? I ended up getting a ebay downpipe for 120 shipped, but still need a catback.

I'm almost 100% positive that the ebay downpipe is identical to the megan one.

If I'm correct I believe a good way to fix this is just flip the hanger, on the car, the other way. It should just be 2 bolts I believe. It may take a little bit of elbow grease to slip it on but I believe this should work for you. Let us know if it does.

Or just do not worry about it like I did.. It does not affect anything just having one hangar missing.. Never had any problems with mine..

yeah, you can just flip the hanger around, thats what i did, but then i forgot to install the hook onto the hanger, still haven't gotten around to installing the hook onto the hanger yet and haven't had any problems. btw, to make it easier to get the rubber hangers onto the exhaust, i just spritzed it with a little pb plaster and it slid right on. that s**t is awesome, i think i am going to use it on my next sandwich.

SO, as far as performance:Should I sneak this mod in before my injectors? If I get injectors I won't feel any real performance, because its just supporting. I'm deciding injectors or turbo back.

Of course I'm gonna get both eventually, I'm just pacing myself with this.

Thanks for help, it really was very easy solution. How come I didn't noticed this hanger not welded but fixed with bolts :D

i would do the turbo back first just because i love to hear my car... as far as performance, it doesn't feel so "choked" in the higher rpms, especially with the t25, in a way, they are both supporting mods though...
