MDP sensor ( clip that holds it on)

When i last boost leak tested my car i noticed that im leaking from the MDP (MAP) sensor what ever you guys wanna call it. There is a clip that normally goes around the sensor. I guess thats why it probably is leaking. Well my question is whay can i use to make sure that this sensor is tight, because im pretty sure with it leaking thats why im getting the dreaded (p1400 & P0400 codes). Any ideas ?

If you are talking about the MDP sensor on top of the intake manifold the only clip that is there is for the wire plug. Its just two bolts that hold it to the intake. Replace the o-ring on it thats the only thing I can think of that would make it leak. Or just take it out its only there for the EGR anyways.

Yes i did mean the harness clip. I noticed the sensor leaks through to the harness side when i boos leak tested.

MDP sensor. Is it supposed to leak through to the harness side of the sensor ? IF you blow on the small hole that plugs into the manifold, should you hear air coming through the other side ?

I still have yet to figure this answer out. Could someone check their MDP sensor and see if air is supposed to leak through to the harness side ?

I haven't specifically test our MDP sensor but I would have to say no thats not normal, just based on every other pressure sensor. There's normally a diaphragm in there to isolate the pressure, I'm thinking more then likely your is shot, which is why its leaking through.

Ok well i guess I'm on the hunt for a new sensor and the harness clip. I know there was a site that had a variety or dsm harnesses. Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

I've read you can use a paper clip in place of the metal clip.

Depinding on the quality of your local salvage yards, you might be able to junkyard one.
